Graveyards and Gravestones / Re: Ford Cemetery - Liverpool
« on: Tuesday 09 September 14 16:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi, Just found your post, hope this helps.
If you look on the back of some headstones (not all), they have plot numbers and are usually in rows of 10.
So if you stand looking at the back of the headstones, the nearest may say (for example) 'AE420' with another 9 plots in front. Then step left, 'AE430' with 9 plots in front, step left ' AE440' and so on.
As I said not all have plot numbers on, so a little detective work will usually locate the missing grave.
There you go, clear as mud......
Good luck

This is a photo of my great grandmother Elizabeth Brady (nee Lawler) and her family from Dublin, taken about 1920's I guess.
You guys will know better than me, can anything be done to this photo to enhance it or is it too far gone.

Have just found my Great grandmother was Elizabeth Sarah Dale born in Dalton-in Furness (Ulverston Union) in 1868 to GEORGE DALE and SOPHIA HAMLETT.
Anybody have any info on George and Sophia? It would be greatly appreciated as I can find nothing on them anywhere

Travelling People / JOHN COOPER - Conjuror
« on: Saturday 09 May 09 05:48 BST (UK)  »
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anybody had any info on a JOHN ROBERT COOPER. He was involved with the travelling circus and regularly appeared at Belle Vue, Manchester 1930-40's-ish.
We dont know where or when he was born, but we do have a few snippets of information which hopefully someone might recognise:-
Around 1918 he was in Norfolk where he ran off with a married woman called MARY LE GRYS (nee MICKLEBURGH). They had three children PERCY, GABY DESLEY and ROY and after travelling around the country with Circus's and Music Hall they all settled in a caravan in Grey Mare Lane, Manchester and later a house in Dainton Street also in Manchester.
He died in 1960 and his profession was listed as Professional Conjuror on his death certificate.
Anybody recognise him ?

I was told by my Irish relatives that EDWARD BRADY came from Cavan.
I am looking for any information about the Edward or his Cavan family.
