Hi Trish
Sorry I was not clear...His mothers maiden name is not on the IGI. The only Hansen Howarth has parents John & Maria and baptised 20 Aug 1815.
He was married in Vic as Hansen Howarth to Mary Darcy in 1853 and the certificate is very basic. I have his childrens births details, all born in Vic. Maybe I could get theirs but it would prove expensive. Some say Hanson some John.
The birth certificate of my gg grandmother in 1855 says her father was born in Manchester, it says he was married in 1851 but it was 1853, also says he was 34 at the time, which makes him born 1821 not 1815. Nothing has on it how long he was in the country for.
He didnt seem to give much away. I dont think he was a convict. Did any get sent to Victoria??
Their daughter was born on the Brians Creek goldfields, so I thought maybe he came for the gold. It says on her certificate he was a brickmaker.
His marriage certificate info is very scant, his wife was from Connaught, Ireland...it is like a jigsaw with this man...I have to glean bits and pieces and try to find where and if they fit.
I even checked to see if Maria was a Hanson...no luck there.
I hope I have given enough informatio.
Regards
Vickie
