Hi Danjac2, there is an article in Trove (The Australian,17 Oct 1837) about the appearance before Quarter Sessions of a Mrs Ameiia WATHEN, who was fined, and later appealed the fine successfully. There is a John Wathern (again, see Trove) who was living in the Central West of NSW, and is buried in Rylstone NSW (date of death 1 Feb 1862. No record in NSW BDMs though. Amelia may have married again after John's death but I can't see any such marriage. Fran

This is a very tardy reply I'm afraid but there is a death record on Scotland's People (pay to view) site for Marion Hamilton 1886 aged 63 mmn Porteous. The OP has probably found it by now! Franinoz

I recently had an example of a "junior" son, in the 19th century. Can't remember exactly which tree. I was mildly surprised at its usage in England, but the word was very clear. Fran

The Common Room / Re: what is mitral systolic compensation?
« on: Sunday 12 February 23 21:12 GMT (UK)  »
From Dr G

Chronic compensated mitral regurgitation

In chronic compensated MR, the left atrium (LA) and ventricle have sufficient time to dilate and accommodate the regurgitant volume. Thus LA pressure is often normal or only minimally elevated.
Closest I can get, but it seems probable. Fran

I started in 1983, in order to debunk a family myth (turned out not to be a myth!) but by then the bug had bitten and I've never stopped. Fran
