Thanks for your reply. I did notice the same, but was living in hope, that one day he may care to take a look. Its a pity, because there is no doubt that we could exchange family details.
Thanks again

Fermanagh / Re: Given Family of Enniskillen

Seeking information on the family / descendants of Robert Given (b C1830) in or near Enniskillen, Fermanagh.
We have an old will (defunct) - written by Robert - that shows his origin as Enniskillen, Fermanagh.  He married a Margaret Ferguson and at least one daughter - Fanny Given - in Perth, Scotland, in1851.  Little else is known but we believe that there may well be descendants of Robert still in the area, and would love to know more of the history of the family.
Thank you

Hi,
Fanny Given, was my Great Grandmother. After she was born, her family moved to Liverpool, where they appear to have stayed. Fanny Given married a Christopher Newcoman of Liverpool and had a number of children including my Grandmother Lillian Newcoman. She, in turn married a Robert Cummings.
I have been researching the family on and off for the last 10 years and has a result have a lot more detail.
When you reply to this message I can give this information.
Regards,

Kent / Re: Where do they keep old inquests?

Hi Celia,
I may have confused you a little. I should have said, that I was a Coroners Office in Birmingham City. I can only what I believed happened to Old Inquest files and papers. In the case of Birmingham City, they were sent to the Birmingham Central Library. It may be the same for other areas of the country.
Gordon.

Many years ago I was a Coroners Officer. I believe all the old Inquest files were sent to the Local History Dept of the Central Library. You could try your own.

Westmorland / Robert Cummings b1806 Kirby Lonsdale
« on: Friday 13 March 09 19:16 GMT (UK)  »
Robert Cummings B1806 Kirkby Lonsdale. D 1875 Kendal. Not found in 1841 Census. Census of 1851 & 61 shows he is living in Liverpool (where most of my family come from) No mention in the Census of 1871. It looks like he returned to Westmoreland when his wife died in 1872.
His wife was a Margaret Kearney B 1809 in Milnethorpe. Although the birth villages are quite close, they appeared to have met and married in Liverpool.
I would appreciate any other information.
Regards
