Hi Jim,
I just found this message here and was wondering about your "I have an 11 page word document that traces the line on this side of the family through John Thompson, Joseph Thompson, Major Joseph Richard Thompson, John Hall Thompson MP, and William Thomas Thompson to Vaughan Thompson,  if anyone is interested", I would be interested in seeing a copy of this.
We have emailed before via my web site at http://wilson-mciver.com where I already have a lot of information available on-line about this family.
Thanks Glen

Hi JDC, The Thompsons this post is about are from Brock which according to the map is only 100miles or so from Baysville / Huntsville so it is possible there is a connection somewhere, I am from the Australian branch of these same Thompsons so I don't know a lot about the Canadian branch but maybe able to help if your friend posts here.

Good evening,

Do you have any Thompsons from the Baysville & Huntville area? A friend of mine is tracing some in that area.

JDC

Hi Loo, Sorry I am not Karen but I lost contact with her several years ago :'(. I do have a lot of information from her however since I am related to her John Hall Thompson line. It includes some extracts that she sent me from a publication called "Call them Blessed" which includes a photo of "All Saints Church" built in 1871.

It also mentions "St. Thomas church" being built on the 11th Concession donated by Major Thompson (he would be my Great Great Great Great Uncle, I think) by John DURE the mason but I can't see any mention of an "AMEYs". The first service was held in March 1840.

Thanks for the link too but Karen had already given it to me, it makes interesting reading. Glen

Hi Annabelinda, I have emailed LMCKEN that you are looking for her, it hasn't bounced (so far at least) so hopefully you will get a reply soon.
I started this topic but am not related to William McDonnell but to the McIvers via his wife Catharine McIver's father.
I had Williams death as Circa 1845 and would love news of what the family did in Dublin where they lived etc.
Feel free to check out my web site for this family http://wilson-mciver.com/individual.php?pid=I4515&ged=GGW1.GED&tab=0

Hi lmcken, I have replied to you directly via the messaging system (see new message at the top of the page), looks like this site has introduced me to yet another relative.
Thanks very much JJ, your replies are very detailed and useful as usual, you seem to be an unending source of useful information.

Hi, Just a comment on this. The quick clean was probably as good as is possible with a scan like this as the resolution is so poor, ie. too few pixels to work with. I know this may not be possible if someone sent you the scan but I would recommend that the original be re-scanned using at least 300DPI. If the original is a very small print them I would scan even higher maybe 600DPI. It could be made almost perfect given enough to work with. Glen

Hello Broni & Sue,
Good to see some more relatives here, this is proving to be a great web site.
Broni & I are already in contact and I think(?) we are 4th cousins with "John Vaughan Thompson" as our common Ancestor, yet to be confirmed as I am not absolutely sure of your tree.
Sue I am more certain of our relationship as you have listed your full tree from "John Vaughan Thompson" Down, I had all (with a few spelling errors now corrected) except for you. You, Sue are my third cousin, once removed with "Thomas George Wilson" as our common Ancestor. Sue Check for a Personal Message (PM) {see the Welcome Back message at the top of the screen for a link to the Messages} I will send you my email address.
