Antrim / Re: John Mays/Mayes/Maze in Magheragall and surrounding help please
« on: Wednesday 17 April 24 23:20 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone,
Great information which should help Bants2468  along.
Googled Stoneyford, just to see where it was, noticed
St John’s Church then remembered about the Proni will.

The Reverend Samuel Mayes Clark, searched for him found
some stuff. Then came across  nifh .org Derriaghy Parish
                        Church Baptisms 1827==1917.

Anne Jane. Mays.  Born 7 January 1871,  Baptism 26 February 1871.
                         John Mays and Isabella.

William. Maze.      Born 8 September 1862,  Baptism 28 September 1862.
                         John Maze and Isabella.
I think they are family members.
                         Best regards,     Billy.

Hi Bants2468,
Had a quick look at the marriage of John & Isabella 1861,
Listed as father was John, farmer.   “ surname MAYS ‘
Also I used MAYES & MAZE.

Isabella was the main search , did a search on deaths for John
There is a death of John Mayes late of Trummery, Co-Antrim.
20 May 1913.  Proni will search.
Granted to Alexander S. Mayes & The Reverend Samuel Mayes Clark.

Can’t find any information on the John listed as father.
Could the farm been handed down as some time?
Try searching for death notices in the local newspapers, they might
                            help you.
                             Best regards,    Billy.

Hi everyone,
I would like to say thanks very much for all your information
that you sent me.       I can now cross Alexander & Alice off.
Some times it’s easy to make the age of people fit the bill.

Alice is the link on my fathers side, guess I was hoping they
where the right one’s.      Need to keep searching.
Best regards and again thank you all.
                          Billy.

 Hi everyone,
Could anyone please help, I’am searching for two family names.
Alice Parsons c1861 & Alexander Patience c1864, married in Belfast
26 December 1881.   Father John Patience.

They had two children, Alexander 1883, Henrietta 1886, who pasted
                      away age 2 1889.
1886 is the last record that I can find of both parents.

There is a Alexander Patience 28, who married in Belfast 1893.
Marked down as widower, same father’s name John.
I can’t find any information on a death Alice Patience, who’s husband
is called Alexander.     This Alexander could fit in but not sure.

                      Here is my brick wall.
                      I have found a Alexander Patience buried 7 June 1920. Plot H Zone C /2451.
Alice Patience buried 16 June 1923.  No age down.
                      Place of death Millers Point.
                      Rockwood Cemetery, Rockwood.

I have been in touch with the cemetery, but sorry to say no luck
with any age.  Would there be any information on records that might
help find if there is a link to Belfast?

Any help would be appreciated, best regards.
                             Billy.

Hi cwatterson,
Just read your message, I would say most plots would be family members.
You could start and search for death notices in the newspapers.
There might be something which could help you.

You could search the Belfast Street Directory’s and see who’s living
at the address after the death.   It’s usually the head of house.
Try if any stuff on PRONI WILL’S.

                     Best of luck,     Billy.

Hi everyone,

Again many thanks, glad to find out William was part of the same family.
James Mayne Trainer was a youngest brother to Margaret.
There was a James born 1893, but died in 1914.

The next born after Margaret was a brother, William Trainer.
Have him living 141 St Cuthberts Road, married.
Slowly getting to fill the right information on the family.

Best regards to you all,     Billy.

Hi everyone,
Thanks to everyone who have help me, I will get everything down
on paper.       William had ten children, can see why they aren’t named.
                        Everyone has been great.

I’am sure he is the son of Margaret Moffitt, will search more on her.
With William’s death at 41 years, though a notice for the Moffitt family.
Best regards from a cloudy day in Shropshire,     Billy.

Thanks very much for your message, I will have a search on
                       local library archives.
Hopefully some family names will match with what I found
                       on the 1939 register.

                       Best regards, Billy.

mother named as Trainer to be one of the same.
Margaret married Syndey in 1921 Gateshead.

Looking for information on his death reg/Dec 1961, age 41.
Many thanks for your help,      Billy.
