Hi Susan,

I am married to Steven Stretch, who is the eldest son of Gillian Beckett, who I understand to be the half sister to Neville Glynn Parr ?

Doe this make sense to you?

Hi wildcamper,

I too am related to the Widnes Farmers, I have been researching for years.

Henry Farmer & Florrie Eden are buried in Widnes Cem.  Just as you go in the main entrance on the right.

Henry was my 1st cousin x2 removed.

Please get in touch.

I can confirm that all the brambles have been removed from Farnworth Churchyard.  It looks fantastic and who ever did the clean up should be given a medal.

I would encourage anyone who has rellies buried in the churchyard to go and make a day of it, daffodils and crocus are coming up all over the place, the headstones are in perfect condition as they have been protected for so long under the brambles.

I know,

They do it by hand you know, no PC's.

I was amazed.

Have a nice day tomorrow, hope the weather holds out for you.

Thanks Geoff,

I knew someone on here would be able to help.

Do you do what we do; Farnworth first then the Crem?

as you go round the back, its the area to the left.  Every time Ive been its been head high in brambles, I'm looking for the following:

FARMER
BUNN
BAMBER
BROWN

I did find a Farmer in there last time, but I got stuck and my Dad had to come and rescue me with the hedge clippers (which we always take with us).  My Grt Grandparents are buried on the righthand side, on the lower ground, which is easier to reach - Sarah Ann & Edward Bamber, and my Nana Tilly.

It would be great if you let me know if my Dad has to sharpen the clippers!!!

Can anyone tell me if all the brambles have been cut down in Farnworth Church graveyard?

Last time I went, I got stuck.... very painful.
