Some of my husband's ancestors were German who changed or anglicised their names during World War I.  One of them took the name of the woman he was living in sin with.  As this was her married name he effectively took the name of his mistress' husband which does seem bizarre.  They continued using this name even after they eventually married.

It's an unlocked phone that's not tied to a particular provider.

Sim free means you buy the phone without a sim card. You can put your old sim card in it if it is the right size.  (If it's the wrong size you have to go into your network phone shop and ask for a "sim swap" - they should be able to do it on the spot)

I replaced my similar vintage Galaxy Fame with a Huawei P10 Lite just before Christmas. I am very happy with it.  It seems like a huge step up. Currently available (sim free) at around £180 and probably ticks all your boxes.

Additionally my daughter has also now bought one to replace an iPhone 5 and she is also happy with it.

Jonathan. Sorry I know his name. I was wondering if he was left handed. The signature on his will has the same slope, but on his 1st marriage (this is from his 2nd) he keeps it on the line.

It was definitely the GRO.

I'd be interested in how you can tell if someone is left handed too. I have an ancestor born in the late 1770s whose signature slopes sharply upwards as if he's 'hooking'. It looks very left handed to me, but I'm no expert.

I was very surprised when I sent for my own marriage certificate to see that it did in fact show the original signatures. (registry office wedding in 1988)

My 4xgt grandfather signed his apprentice indenture, the administration papers for his father's estate and his own will, but marked an x in the marriage register.  11 couples were married on the same day, all by the same clergyman. Four grooms and one bride early in the sequence signed their own names. One witness appears on every record and the last 5 records have the same 2nd witness too. The phrase "conveyor belt" springs to mind.

African but not Caribbean, so I'm not sure if this fits your bill.

I am very distantly related to him by marriage and haven't done any research of my own but if you Google the name you will find numerous descendants (he had 8 children)
