I'm sorry to hear about what happened.
I also was not there, and not really 100% on what I was accusing anyone of.
Bob was my uncle, I would never say anything bad of him.
I haven't been on here for 10 years and don't really recall my original post, but don't think I implied that Bob hurt his wife. I always knew who did it, I just happened to be researching at the time.
Again, I'm so sorry whatever happened,  I'm unaware of any of it.
Did you go to police?
I would have.
Not everyone has closest family ties and I wiped mine many years ago.
Once again I'm terribly sorry. Nobody should have to endure that when their grieving,  but I do t recall slandering Bob in any way.

I am aware of that, I have just contacted a very distant by marriage relative who is going to send me everything she has, as I lost everything on my hard drive a year ago, and just started all over again. But your right, that's the part I'm scratching my head over also, it seems he may have died a loner, as no spouse mentioned, but from the old family stories, and they've come from a few different sources, not just mum, that everyone was scared of him, so he may have driven everyone off with his temper. I also don't understand how he had time to start a family, when it appears he was always locked up...

All I have on him is he was tried again in Tasmania for manslaughter on 4 June 1860 . And I know of at least 2 sons, John, and Joseph, who married sisters by the name of Short.
