I looked up the website, www.geocities.com/Heartland/Estates/6587/Irname.html for the names and found it very helpful.  Thanks for another suggestion.  It all helps. Thanks again.

Broken link- please let us know if you find a new link to this information

Actually the time frame is pre 1836 as it looks like this is when the Armitages came from Ireland to Canada

Can anyone help me out?  I have gone as far back as an "Old" William Armitage.  Then I hit a brick wall.

I see it quite often, I am working on Armitage genealogy. What I was told was that it was a nickname for Roger/Rhody/Rody

 ???charlotteCH,
I started out wondering how I would make out following the directions, I usually need a map.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I feel like a kid in a candy store who has been told that they can get just what ever they want.  It is HUGE.

???I have been looking for a group of Armitages that went from Ireland approx 1836, one being "Old" William Armitage and sons R(h)ody, Francis, Luke and Joseph, some stayed in Ontario whereas the others went to Pontiac County, Quebec.  Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
