Hi

It is important that you cancel your world wide subscription NOW or it will renew.

Think you will have to wait until September for “special offer” then you can renew using the connections given by Sandra on her post of 22nd March.

When renewing it is important to have cancelled auto renewal in your account and be signed out of your account.

Sandra is best person to advise see her posts.

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Re: Looking for a few Wills or references to..

Hi,
The Will of Edward Lomas 1801 states

I give and devise unto my son in law Richard Glossop and my daughter Dorothy now his wife  -goes on to describe property etc.,  TO HOLD TO THEM FOR AND DURING THEIR NATURAL LIVES AND THE LIFE OF THE LONGER LIVING OF THEM.  It then goes on to state who gets the property

Dorothy THE LONGER LIVER could not leave the property in a will because she never owned.

On her death the property would be divided as per the will of Edward Lomas - it was to go the children born by Dorothy     either Walker or Glossop.

May we worth looking in newspapers after Dorothy dies, assume the property would be sold.

Hope this assists

Hi
Sorry forgot to say that Ester/Easter is listed on Ancestry
Bpt  19th October 1823 dau of George & Hannah.  They have the Bpt at St. Peter's Belper this is incorrect St. Peters was not built until 1825.

The actual Bpt took place at St. John's Belper, this was built c 1250 for Bpt & Burials with marriages taking place at Duffield.

Hi

Further confirmation that the Mother's maiden name was Marston, are the following Bpts. Although constantly written as Marson:-

Hannah Marston = George Ride 1810 in Horsley Derbyshire.

Hi,
If you intend visiting this year, most record offices allow you to photograph documents the cost is about £6 per day for this.

Possibly an easy way to see what each record office hold is to do the following using the link below:-

https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

Enter only the Surname - Farrell in the search box
Do not enter any dates
Click on box "Held By" and from drop down list select "other archives only"

You are now presented with  a list of results.  On the left hand side  you can select date but more importantly which record office hold records in which Farnell is mentioned.

Suggest you select date   1700 - 1799, and Leicester.   Click Refine.

You now have all documents held by Leicestershire, making a list of which you wish to examine
you can then make an appointment at this record office and pre-order the documents. This can then be repeated for Derbyshire etc.

Do you have access to either Ancestry or Findmypast?

Hi,
There are a number of documents held by Derbyshire Record Office, which name Martin Farnell.

He purchased the Lordship of the Manor of Cotton in the Elms in 1795, this is the connection

This is connection to other documents in which he is named
