WW1 In Memoriam / 13th October 1914 Pte James Small 3rd Bn. Worcestershire Regiment.
« on: Saturday 09 August 14 23:31 BST (UK)  »
In memory of my Grandfather who left his wife and son on the 4th of August 1914 to go to war as an army reserve. He saw a notice pinned on a farm gate in the village of Hanbury in Worcestershire and went home and packed a bag, he didn't even have his tea before leaving. My Grandmother never saw him again. My mother was born on the 18th of November 1914 the same day that my Grandmother received the telegram to say that he had been killed.

Hi Kerry,
There is no mention of a baptism for George Tustin in the Hanbury Register . The only mention of anyone with the surname Tustin is the marriage of Elizabeth Tustin to Richard Homes on the 10 Apr 1721.  The birth record you have is it a verified record ? My records are taken from the Bishops Transcripts and he isn't there.

Hi
I have just received the Birth cert for Frederick Pole. It was the correct one. It was transcribed wrongly on Family Search .org. It is as follows

Born 17th of June 1838. Frederick. Boy. Father John Pole. Mother Elizabeth Pole Formerly Sewell. Occ. of Father Framework Knitter.
So thanks everyone for all your help, another mystery cleared up.  This is now complete.

Thanks

Hi Ambly
I am going to send for Frederick's birth cert after Easter. It would be very interesting to find out what is on it. It might shed a little more light on John Pole and see if he is listed as the father. I just wonder if he is the father of Frederick and not someone else. I will post the results on here when I get it.

Hi Ambly
I am not 100% sure it is him. But the other John Pole of similar dates was married to Matilda. If it isn't him then where is he ?  But I am as sure as I can be at the moment. I have spent 25 years tracing the Pole family. My Uncle also did a lot of work in the Leicester records. His research confirmed most of what I found out. But even he didn't know that his Grandfather Richard Pole had a brother called Frederick.
If anyone knows of another John Pole b around 1812 in or near Belgrave in Leicester I will gladly have a look.
       Regards

Hi,
I have found Elizabeth Pole in 1881. She is with the same family the Ortons but they are in Wales . Martha Sewell is also there. Rhuddlan ,Flintshire. East Parade Plastirion Terrace. RG11 Piece 5528 Folio57 pg 9. I also think I may have found her husband in Portsea Prison but I think his age is listed wrong.it says age 56 when it should be 69 but it has him as a Pensioner . So this needs a little more work.

Thanks for your help. This is now complete.
