Yorkshire (West Riding) Completed Requests / Re: Charles e firth
« on: Monday 23 February 09 07:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Jane,

Charles Edward Firth married Sarah Ann Beevers (1887).  She was the daughter of Thomas Beevers and Jane Blacker.

Charles was the son of Thomas Firth and Sarah Ann Micklethwaite.

Sarah Ann was the daughter of John Micklethwaite and Elizabeth Horn (married 1828).  The confusion is because of the previous and future marriages of Elizabeth.  See below;

In 1816, Elizabeth married Daniel Heap and had a son called Daniel Heap in 1826.

In 1828, Elizabeth married John Micklethwaite and had the children; Ann (1829), William (1932) and Sarah Ann (1835).

Later, Elizabeth married a Thomas Berry (I cannot find this marriage).

John Micklethwaite had previously been married to Elizabeth Heward in 1816 and had the following children;  Joseph (1817), George (1818), Jonathan (1820) and John (1822).

I hope this makes sense and helps a little.

All the best

Russell

Hello again,

The building is now a theatre called The Lamproom.  It used to be something to do with Barnsley Scouts (Boy's club - that is it!) or something like that.  I will try to find out if it was a church at some point, but I do not think so.

Hello deadants,

I am from Barnsley and the photos ARE of the same building, on the way down Shambles Street towards the Town End Roundabout.

Thankyou very much Sunflower,

I now have another family to look in to.  Elizabeth could possibly be around 26-30 in 1851 but I have nothing definite to substanciate this.

I think that Elizabeth could be either deceased or married by this time.

Thankyou once again for your time.

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 Derbyshire Census - HARDWICK

Thankyou Sunflower,

This ties in with what I suspected.

Since posting this message, I now know that there was only one Hardwick family living in Northedge in 1841.  This family are old enough to be Joseph's grandparents but he and Elizabeth are again nowhere to be found.

Thankyou for your time, it is very much appreciated.

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / 1851 look up please Pc2147 F84 Sc38 - HARDWICK

I would be grateful if someone could look up SJ Hardwick on the 1851 Derbyshire census.

There is a possibility that SJ Hardwick aged 11 at Pc2147 F84 Sc38 is my gg grandad.  I know that there is no other Hardwick at the address.

His mother, Elizabeth Hardwick is not living with him so I am hoping that he is with other relatives I do not know about.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou

Russell
