That is a different Robert Riddet but I have paid for the William Jamieson death certificate anyway and it is not the family that I am looking for so a waste of money unfortunately.  As I said it was a speculative one.

Hello.  Yes I have looked at these before and have hit dead ends unfortunately. I have found nothing on Thomas after 1851. Robert, Sarah and children Sarah Watson and William Riddett were in Dalry parish on the 1851 census.  Robert was a grocer and spirit dealer.  It is Sarah's daughter Sarah Watson and Robert's sister Mary Riddett with William Jamieson on the 1861 census.  Robert, Sarah and William may have died pre 1855 and William has taken over the business or they have emigrated.

I have had cases like this before where the death certificate just show blanks for the parents names as there is no no one left that knows the information, which is another reason why I didn't want to risk paying again.

It makes you pay for 30 credits though which I don't need and I have wasted a lot of money on this website in the past.  Why they can't have had a monthly subscription like other sites.

Hello

He was unmarried and it is a speculative one as to whether he is related where the death record is too expensive on SP with their credit system.

Hello

Does anyone have any more information on William Jamieson, spirit merchant, born Ireland around 1822.  The 1861 and 1871 census index shows Dalry, Ayrshire but the address details show Laigh Auchengree, Kilbirnie Station.

I am wanting to know the name of his parents and county of birth in Ireland.

Thanks

Thank you

I had already found some records of the James Kelly of the 21st Foot born Leek, Tyrone and that he died 1858 but not the the one showing his residence as Stranraer.  The problem is the 1858 death certificate shows the informant as wife Lusanda Kelly which doesn't seem to tie in?

Hello

I am looking for more information on James Kelly, born around 1793 in Ireland.  He was living at Sun Street, Stranraer, Wigtownshire, Scotland on the 1841 census with wife Elizabeth and children James and Helen.

It is possibly him again on the 1851 census in Girvan, Ayrshire as a widower with Helen/Ellen having married James Dunn.

I have not been able to find a military record that is definitely him or a death record although he may have died before 1855 registration started.

Can anyone find any more information?

Thanks

Steve
