Kent Lookup Requests / Burgess Harold /Harriet Botting Mystery? Gravesend/Shorne
« on: Wednesday 31 March 10 15:23 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find out what happened to Harold Burgess we was married to Harriett Botting in 1894  he was 25 carpenter Harriet 29  they were married in Plumpstead ( I have a copy of marriage certificate)  They were living 189 High street but it doesn't say where.

They had a son (Harold Thomas Chips 6th March 1895 borne in Shorne) father listed as being carpenter/journeyman)  and she lost a daughter I have no idea how old??  Harold apparently left Harriet shortly after the war (turned up on the doorstep with another woman and said he was leaving).

Can anyone help me as I am stuck.  Is there anyway of finding out whether the marriage was dissolved?  or any information on the child that died. Or any leads as to where I may go next would be gratefully received.   I have used City Ark and found lots of Burgess references and put the trees togther but nothing seems to link.  Unfortunately I am not on Broadband and any downloads take forever.

Thankyou

Can anyone help me please I am trying to find information on Thomas Burgess Born 1846  I Have him  1860C  carpenters apprentice and 1871C  master carpenter born in Snodland wife harriet   I have found a Thomas Burgess with more children and not sure whether its the same Thomas Burgess with a different wife!

According to a family relative Thomas left his wife to bring up two children and  in later years  Harriet  lived with her son Harold and his wife winifred until she died in 1952.  Thomas was never spoken about and nobody knows what happened to him.

I am very confused there seems to be Harriet (Cooper note sure about this) who married Thomas Botting  they had a daughter Harriet who married Thomas Burgess

Any help with the mystery would be gratefully received
