Sabina lived with my great-grandad for a while in Middleton. She was noted in his divorce records at Coleford.
I believe they were together for around 3 years. She later moved to Sheffield.
I am not sure if they had any children together but would like to find out!

Caernarvonshire / Re: is llanbeblig parish registers still online please?
« on: Monday 08 April 19 06:27 BST (UK)  »
The key question that FindMyPast should answer is why are these Welsh Parishes pulling out of FindMyPast? I presume they spoke to the respective Parishes and therefor know what reasons were given?

Going forward one would hope that more baptism, marriage and burial records would be added, indeed eventually all of those available. This retrograde move diminishes the value of FindMyPast.

I hope they take the suggestion of warning prior to removal of records so that those active researchers can quickly access what they need. They should also include updates on removed records with their periodic emails regarding new material.

This seems to be a growing problem at FindMyPast. I was researching a branch of my Welsh Family and suddenly the records all disappeared from the search index and were no longer indexed or viewable. Luckily I had downloaded some of the images a week ago.

FindMy Past reported that multiple Welsh Parishes have opted out of their digitisation programme and hence the index and records need to be removed.

Attempting to follow a link from FamilySearch or other source simple gets you now to a FindMyPast error page.

I have suggested FindMyPast email subscribers to let them know which indexes and records are about to be deleted so that users can prioritise their research.

Parish Records were a major selling point for FindMyPast and their removal greatly diminishes the site's value. Very sad series of events.

Here are those parishes, so far, that have declined to be listed/further listed on FindMyPast and have now been removed as of 5th April 2019.

No worries Dave, thanks for the interest though. I'm hoping that there is s0meone out there with access to the Montgomeryshire and Radnorshire parish records, in particular those from Llangurig around 1650-1685 that can help.

Thanks Dave,

Yes I have seen a great deal of copied material relating to John Jarman. On my own ancestry tree I have a wide collection of documents from his life in Pennsylvania. There is also the charge (as a Quaker) and fine made against him recorded prior to his departure. I also have noted the will of his mother. All the Pennsylvania records that include it show his origin as Llangurig, Montgomeryshire.

What is missing is any documentary evidence of his birth, marriage, live in Wales and departure to Pennsylvania. All that I have found on other trees is copied dates and remarks including the note of his wife's maiden name as Margaret Goodwyn. I don't have access to Llangurig, Montgomeryshire or Radnorshire records that match.

Any help on real records from Montgomeryshire/Radnorshire birth, baptism, marriage and transporting ship would be very welcome !

Kind regards,
Chris Jarman

Montgomeryshire Lookup Requests / Llangurig look up request 17C - JARMAN / JERMAN
« on: Sunday 30 August 15 08:37 BST (UK)  »
Could anyone help with a look up for Llangurig?

I am trying to locate a John Jarman (Jerman) that married a Margaret in the 1670/80s and had at least two children - Elizabeth and Sarah. There may have been more children.

Any record of the marriage and baptisms would help.

The family emigrated to the USA in 1683.

All help greatly appreciated.
