Hi, In 1881 Richard is living with married daughter, Mary Sharkey, and Ann with married son, William Hunt.

From the death record seems husband Richard died at the residence of wife Ann at Pendleton, Salford, County of Lancaster.

Cheshire / Ann Hunt (nee Curry) born Ireland c 1816/20 died after Sept 1885 in Salford

Looking to confirm the death (after Sept 1885) in or around Salford of Ann or Anna Hunt, nee Curry (or Correy, Corrie), born c 1816/1820 in Dublin Ireland, d/o James Curry and Winifred Doyle, wife of Richard Hunt (1804-1885). Ann's last known address, when husband Richard died on 16th Sept 1885,  was 7 Temperance Place, Pendleton, Cheshire. Her son William Hunt was living with wife Martha in Ancoats, Manchester in 1891 so that is another area possibility.  Ann was known to understate her age by as much as 10 years!

Many thanks in advance

Hi Lauren,

Many thanks for responding and explaining your connection. I’ve since established that James Welsh and Annie Semple Harrison had a daughter, Isabella Boyd Welsh, in 1911. She went on to marry a Joseph Boon Cantley and they had four children. I’ll private message you with my email address. Let me know If you would like me to send you the little I have on your Harrison/Boyd side and my Welsh side.

Thanks again for making contact.

All the best,

David

Interested in any Bennett family born in Broadhempston, especially offspring of James Bennett and Ann Cooke married Broadhempston 1773 and of William Bennett and Charlotte Evans, married Broadhempston 1819. My Gt Gt Grandfather was John Evans Bennett (1820-1890), a Master Mariner then Dock Pilot in London.

Hello Don

Thanks for the message.  I’m afraid your email address was removed so I need to respond to you this way.

Are you able to tell me more about Anne’s father James Welsh? A possible candidate among my Welsh side is a James Welsh who was born 18th July 1897 at Yonderfield, West Kilbride. He was the son of William Welsh and Jane McKinnie. It looks like my James Welsh married a Helen Skilling in British Columbia on 27th Dec 1923. James died 16th April 1941 in Kilmarnock. A Helen Carolina “Walsh” died aged 78 in Kilmarnock in 1977. I cannot confirm if James Welsh and Helen Skilling had any children.

An Anne Mitchell G Welsh or Angus married a Lancelot Powell in 1963 in West Kilbride. Anne Mitchell G Powell died there in 1992, aged 64, hence born c 1928. Lancelot Powell died aged 67 in 1982 in West Kilbride, so born c 1915. Again I cannot confirm if any offspring.

I hope this information helps you Don. If you have anything more on Anne or James Welsh I’m happy to probe further.

All the best, David

A bit of fresh information on dates here. An 1862 birth record of their son Thomas shows that John Boyce and Sarah (or Sally) Anne Forsyth married in Gilford, County Down in November or December 1840, not 1844. The earlier date is far more plausible as John and Sarah’s first child arrived in Girvan in 1842/1843, and the info comes from John Boyce himself as the birth informant.
