Mark,  Your personal message box appears to be full so I'll send you(below) the message I was including minus my e.mail address.
Would you be able to let me know your e.mail address through a personal message to me then we can correspond directly through e.mail ?

Hi Mark,
Thanks for confirming the information you sent. Our rellies love to confuse us sometimes, don't they ? They are probably watching down on us and having a good chuckle.
I have also tried to find where George snr. was buried but no luck so far but will keep on looking. Where did you get the birth certificates for George and Edith's children from ?

I've been trying to confirm the actual occupation of George's father John Hennesey as the Clerk of Petty sessions was only a part time job. I did find on George snr's marriage certificate to his first wife Margaret that John's occupation was a Barrack Master (or that is what the writing looks like), but I'm not sure what that was. I am thinking that John may have originally been in the Police force and later semi-retired to caretaking the Barracks also being the Clerk of the Court. Does that make sense to you ?

Christine

Hi Mark,
Thank you for the great photos of the graves. What is the name of the cemetery where these are ?

I am a little confused on the christian names though. Is Elizabeth Edith HENNESSEY nee LYNAS who died 1952, actually Edith LYNAS who was married to George Newcombe HENNESEY? George's parents were John HENNESEY, the Clerk of the Court of Petty Sessions in Limerick, and Margaret GINNANE.
Cheers,  Christine

Thank you Wivenhoe.  I didn't notice that when I copied and pasted the website into the message but I have corrected that now.

Immigrants & Emigrants - General / ROYAL DANE passengers 1865 to Great Keppel Bay

We have been trying for years to obtain the Shipping list for the “Royal Dane” that our Ancestors William and Elizabeth LAWLOR emigrated to Australia on without any luck, but we recently found some Parliamentary Tabled Papers that had not been previously digitised and put online.
There are 33 pages of a report presented to Parliament on the 5th September 1865, including statements from each passenger mentioned, and referring to complaints etc. mainly against the Medical attendant onboard.

Below is a list of 16 names mentioned in the document, and as far as we know they were all steerage passengers and never listed anywhere before.
We hope that these names will confirm for some families that their relatives did come out on the Royal Dane.

Ellen POOLE
James CONNOULTY
Bridget TEVLIN (TEVLISS?)
Maurice REEDY
Charles PRIDE
John AHERN
John KILLINGLY
Alfred MORGAN
Joseph EDWARDS
Anna EDWARDS (Matron)
Caroline ABBY (Sister)
Frances CARTLEDGE
Isabella SHUTTLEWORTH
Charles SHUTTLEWORTH
Johnson SHUTTLEWORTH
Mrs. GREEN

The Captain was Lewis DAVIES and the Doctor was Dr. HODGKINSON (These names were previously known).
They have now released and digitised this document,
“The Immigration Board Report : Proceedings and evidence with reference to the vessel 'Royal Dane' (Tabled 05/09/1865)

Here is the website :

Thank you Dathai and Sinann so much for all of that information. I have saved all those documents and tomorrow I'll go through them all.
I am also really curious about that occupation of John Hennessy, George's father. The second word I feel is "Maker".
