hi all,
I'm directly descended from george longmuir and margaret mckay. They were my gggreat grandparents. my line then follows to david longmuir and sarah jane keatly, then john longmuir and mary jane trueman, then alfred william longmuir. he was my paternal grandfather. i have only recently discovered who he was.
would there be anyone out there that has a picture of him or anyone else they would be willing to share?

my ancestor, Cornthwaite John Hector , was baptized in St Marys ,Portsea on 5 Nov 1773. I saw on a web site there are three churches that make up the parish.
We are traveling to the UK next year and I want to visit the church, could someone confirm if it is the St Marys on St Marys Road in Portsea?

Also, his parents were, I believe, James Hector and Elizabeth possibly Page. They were married at this church 25 June 1771, I dont suppose anyone knows these names or where they came from?

I hope you are still out there.
I found the post regarding the Martins and was wondering if you would be able to tell me about James Martin b1811 who married Mary Ann Martin b1811. All I know is his father was James and his mother Margaret Vray (not sure on the spelling) James is my direct line. James died 1878 in Maryborough,Victoria Australia.
Another Martin descendant thinks possible they came from Ireland at some point, I'd be most grateful for any details you can provide.

have just come across your message re:cj hector. are you by any chance a relative? he is my ggggrandfather.
i was interested in your comment about him being a creative story teller, it seems to be a trait that has come down the family.
