For the past 2 or 3 days I haven't been able to get on to Facebook.I either get a blank page or a list of things down the left hand side which don't do anything. I'm not very computer savvy so when something goes wrong I'm stuck. Can anyone give me some advice and help. Thank you.

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Help finding William and Lucy 1871
« on: Monday 16 February 15 15:33 GMT (UK)  »
Please can anyone help me find William and Lucy Killick in 1871 in Lincolnshire ?

I have them on every other census with various children but just can't find them in 1871.
I have seen them on a few Ancestry trees but not in 1871.
I think the surname may be wrongly spelt but I have tried every way I can think of.
I would be so grateful for any help.

The Common Room / Ancestry etiquette
« on: Sunday 11 January 15 13:42 GMT (UK)  »
Should living relatives be listed as private on a public tree on Ancestry ? I have just returned to my tree research after a long break and found my name on someones tree. It may be someone I have had contact with in the dim and distant past (memorys not what it was ! ) but I certainly don't remember giving permission to be put on a tree. I will contact the tree owner to see what the connection is but would be interested in others views on this.

The Common Room / Any hope of finding where Grandad is buried ?
« on: Thursday 27 November 14 13:37 GMT (UK)  »
Charles Edward Wichman (Wickman on the death certificate ) died in Radford 17th April 1944 aged 70. His death was certified by the coroner "after post mortem without inquest " The informant was G.W.Richardson and says "causing the body to be buried "

Charles was my husbands Grandfather, born in Sheffield but according to family rumour deserted his wife and 4 children after "drinking away the profits " of his jewelry business. Never mentioned again, recorded as deceased on his daughters marriage certificate 1932.

I know this is a long shot but I wondered if there was any way to find where he was buried.

Any help welcome.

The Common Room / Why would Grandad say he wasn't married ?
« on: Monday 12 May 14 22:53 BST (UK)  »
On the 1901 census for Curragh camp my husbands Grandfather is listed as Not married but he was married in Nov 1900. His wife is on the census with their daughter living with her family in Glasnevin. What reason would he have for saying he wasn't married  ?
