Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Charles Anthony Brown/e born 1828
« on: Monday 06 May 19 12:25 BST (UK)  »
I have posted before searching for Charles Anthony Brown/e born 1828 Hampshire?.  (Son of Anthony James Brown/e born 1793 for some reason in Glasgow.

Have been trying to trace this ancestor for ages.  Can anyone read whether Charles Anthony Brown was married on the attached 1861 Census.  States that he was Head, and Foreman of Works, Stokes Bay, Hants.  I THINK that there were working mens cottages, and he might just have been Head of that cottage??

Wondering whether he was Corps of Royal Engineers like his father.  MAYBE guessing at Fort Gilkicker?

Any help much appreciated.

(Not sure census attachment worked, but will try again separately)

Australia / Victoria, Where was William H(arry) BUXEY, born in 1851 buried 1911
« on: Sunday 17 February 19 06:43 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I have various Buxey postings in the UK forum but have just come across a William H Buxey buried in Victoria at Springvale Crematorium in 1911.  Although I couldn't find his grave.

What I have found out that he was quite possibly a chiropodist in Fitzroy and later advertised as being appointed to Governor General Brassey.  He died intestate so there were no pointers there.

How would I go about finding if he is one of my British Buxeys?  I tried Passenger Lists as a look up on Forebears thinking that he might have been on a passenger list in approximately 1871 as he is down on his burial details as being born 1851.

Any pointers much appreciated.

Europe / Descendants of Alois & Selma BAUCH nee Gunther Berlin
« on: Sunday 19 February 17 21:42 GMT (UK)  »
I initially posted the following request in "Other Countries" and hope by re-posting it here I might be lucky in getting someone to help me.

Another request was to ascertain whether a document titled Beglaubigte Ablichtung aus dem Sterbebuch des Standesamtes Hannover is a death certificate or if there is another document that shows family and siblings like Australian certificates.

Many thanks in advance.

"Hello Everyone

I have been trying to track down details of my grandfather's family from Charlottenburg, Berlin, Germany.

My grandfather's name was Gerhard Aloysius Bauch born in 1905, but I can't find any details of his siblings Otto, Eter (sounds like Pater but without "P") and sister Minna.

Alois, Gerhard's father ran a restaurant in Charlottenburg in Luisenplatz and I have a photo of his family standing outside.  I think Gerhard is the eldest because Alois and Selma were married in 1905 a couple of months before my grandfather was born.

I have the address of the Standesamt Charlottenburg von Berlin BUT I haven't got any exact birthdates to request certificates.  There are a lot of entries for Otto and Minna on Family Search and I only know the phonetic spelling for Eter, so I am not even sure if this name is a nickname or shortened name.

Hoping someone can help with this.

Europe / Marriage, BAUCH Hameln, Germany
« on: Monday 11 April 16 07:28 BST (UK)  »
Hello everyone,
I have just started researching my German ancestry and am wanting to find a marriage for Anna Waltraude BAUCH who was born 1912 in Hameln (the Pied Piper's town).  I think her husband's Christian name was Ete (spelling? abbreviated?).  After she married I believe she went to Wilhelmshaven because her husband was in the Navy.
I have tried a few of the link resources from this sub board, but no luck.
I have the family Stammbuch but there are no handwritten updates for this particular great aunt.
Looking forward to hearing back.
Vielen  Dank
