Lancashire / Henry Parr 1724
« on: Tuesday 25 August 20 14:40 BST (UK)  »
I have the Baptism: 20 Sep 1724 Parish Church, Newchurch in Culcheth, Lancashire, England for Henry Parr with his father stated as Henry.  I have been unable to find a definite tie but provisionally I think his father is Henry Parr born circa 1678 in Cadishead being married to Ann Salesbury (Ancestry Family Trees).  They all suggest Henry senior's father is Thomas Parr born about 1650 in Worsley but I have been unable to substantiate this as I can't find any evidence linking the three other than those on Ancestry which do not have any sources.  Can anyone help me with this dilemma?

Lancashire / Emma and John William Hendley circa 1862
« on: Wednesday 19 August 20 14:06 BST (UK)  »
I am at a loss to know which forum to post this question so I am starting with Emma.  The 1911 census has Emma Hendley born circa 1862 in Ince, Lancashire - married.  Her husband is given as John William Hendley born circa 1863 in Staffordshire.  The 1901 census has Emma birthplace Wigan, Lancashire, England and William Handley birthplace Oldbury Staffordshire and shows their first son William born circa 1884 in Killamarsh Derbyshire.  I have checked the births of all their children and they all have the mothers maiden name given as Whippey.  I have tried to find the birth of Emma and her marriage either to John William Hendley or Handley or just William with her surname as Whippey with no success.  I am now at a loss so if anyone can give me a glimmer of hope I will be very happy.

Can anyone help.  James Rigby was baptised in Wigan on 02 October 1813 in All Saints Church Wigan to William Rigby (weaver) and Jane Aspinall.  He married Elizabeth (I have not been able to find a surname) according to the 1851 census was born in Wigan circa 1825.  I think Elizabeth died age 30 circa 19 Jan 1854 in Hindley.  After the 1851 census I can't find him or his son Joseph who was born 10 May 1847 in Whelly, Wigan.  I have no problem with Joseph and his family but I am really struggling with James.  Any help will be appreciated.
Many thanks

London and Middlesex / Georgina Agnes Giles born cica 1872
« on: Thursday 26 December 19 11:52 GMT (UK)  »
I am seeking help with additional information regarding Georgina Agnes Giles.  The information I have is as follows:
She married James Bateman  on 05/03/1893 St Mary Magdalene, Peckham England her age being given as 21 and her father being given as Henry Giles (Deceased).
The 1901 census for James Bateman and Georgina has Georgina's birthplace as 'Westminster, Middlesex England' and the schedule includes James mother in law as Mary Rogers born about 1853 on the Isle of White.  I found a birth for Mary Giles in 1852 as '3rd qtr Isle of White, Hampshire, England 2B 455' and I found a potential marriage in the 2nd qtr 1876 between Mary Giles and George Rogers in St. Saviour Southwark.
The subsequent census for 1881 and 1891 has the now Mary Rogers (Listed as married bu no husband listed)  and her daughter who is now listed as Georgina Rogers.  The schedule for Mary Rogers of 1881 includes the entry 'Agnes Giles - Mother - Widow - 1817 - Plymouth Devon England'.
I am having great difficulty piecing it all together and I would welcome any help and assistance in trying to make sense of it all as I have failed to make any real connection with the several parts.
