World War One / finding my gt grandfathers dispatch rider service number/ records
« on: Friday 26 October 18 11:53 BST (UK)  »
how do,
how would I go about locating (if they survived the NA bombing in ww2) his service records or even number so I can research him more?
All I have to go on for sure is his name and address (prior to the war), he was with the 66th Div working with the anzacs, and he was gassed.  I've had no joy with absent voter registers.
Would attestation forms be about anywhere in either the NA or Royal engineers archives to help me positively ID/link him to a service number?

thanks

How do all,

I've got the service records (Both ww1 RAF, interwar RFA and ww2 Pioneer corps, in which he seems to have had 3 or 4 service numbers during his life) for my gt grandad but am trying to find out more about his time in India, he was there from June '20 -march '27 in 115 battery 25th bde.
Any ideas of any links or books apart from going to PRO as I am up near glasgow ;-) ....The RA museum archives are u/s until July which is handy ;-).....

thanks

« on: Thursday 04 July 13 22:58 BST (UK)  »
How do all,

I've recently found out that my gt grandfather was either in one of the Royal tank regiments or the Royal armoured corps. All I have is a name, how likely is it that I would find some more gen on him?
