Lancashire Lookup Requests / Mullin- Manchester Cathedral
« on: Monday 07 March 11 23:42 GMT (UK)  »
If anyone is going to Manchester records office I would be eternally grateful for the following lookup.
John Mullin married Catherine Flood 25 August 1856 (details Family Search).
They had a son John Mullin baptized Manchester Cathedral 30 Aug 1857 and a daughter Mary Jane Mullin baptized 2 September 1860. I am interested because although family search gives mothers maiden name as Flood on marriage,  Mary Jane's birth cert gives her maiden name as Connor. I would be grateful for the names of any family members on the marriage  document for this couple. Lynn :)

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Vernon's of Little Budworth
« on: Wednesday 16 February 11 18:03 GMT (UK)  »
I would be grateful for any thoughts anyone has on the Vernons which is not an uncommon name in Cheshire.
My relative Joseph Vernon bn1821 Little Budworth to Joseph and Mary Vernon. He seems to be their first child. Siblings Sarah 1825, Ann 1827, Martha 1830 & Abraham 1833 all baptized Little Bud and on every census entry for all birthplace is Little Bud. So i thought I would look for marriage of Joseph & Mary in Little Bud- Not there. Banns are missing around this date.
Bertram Merrell has a marriage though for Joseph Vernon and Mary Towers in Great Budworth in February 1821 banns for this marriage say both are of Great Budworth parish. Do you think I am safe to assume that these are my relatives and for some reason decided to marry in Great Budworth which I know is not right next door to Little Budworth

Family History Beginners Board / Louis Selig
« on: Tuesday 14 December 10 22:47 GMT (UK)  »
Just a ramble this as I would be interested in any ideas people may have about this puzzle-
My 2x G Grandmother Fanny Selig was born in 1846 in Liverpool, father Louis Selig mother Mary Selig(maiden name not clear), Louis Selig is on 1851 census at hotel in IOM. I have been unable to find Fanny, Mary and sibling on 1851. In 1858 Louis  Selig Kusel marries Rebecca Kusel according to rites of Jewish Religion at 44 Lime Street , Liverpool. On 1861 census Louis is living with Mary and family at 44 Lime Street and on subsequent census is with Mary. I have been unable to find a Rebecca Kusel on any census, birth or death index so I'm stumped. The only thing I can think of is that Mary should take on the name Rebecca for a Jewish wedding. Is this likely to have happened? :D

Berkshire Lookup Requests / Tadley Parish
« on: Sunday 28 March 10 17:17 BST (UK)  »
If anyone is able to lookup registers for this parish I would be most indebted and grateful to them.
I am looking for the parents of James Saunders. On the IGI entry for his marriage in 1832  his birth year is given as 1807 but no parents names are given. There are many entries for Saunders in Tadley and usually it is given as being in the county of Hampshire although on his marriage entry it is given as Berkshire so I intend to post this thread there as well.
James married Elizabeth in 1832 ( I dont know her surname so if its not too much of an ask can this be checked?) and is on 1841 census as living in Tadley1832. I am most grateful for your help Lynn :)

Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / Peterborough British School
« on: Sunday 14 March 10 13:17 GMT (UK)  »
This maybe a tall ask but you never know what info is out there. A relative of mine William Francis Pollard  on the 1861 census is a schoolmaster at The British School in Peterborough. Will there be any records for this school accessible on line does anyone know? Whats more interesting about William is that in 1841 he was an inmate at Cornwall county Gaol and was later acquitted. Would like to find out as much about his journey as I can. Thanks Lynn
