Fermanagh / GORDON /BRADY/MURRAY (Surname)
« on: Monday 03 December 12 19:12 GMT (UK)  »
I live in New Zealand.
I am trying to trace my family with the Surname of "GORDON"
My G-Grandmother ( Sarah GORDON ) was born in County Fermanagh in 1865.
She married aged 21 a John Lang Allan ( aged 28 ) in Glasgow in 1886.
My G-Grandmother SARAH ALLAN ( nee Gordon) died within 18 months of my Grandmother ( Marion May Allan ) being born in 1889
I am assuming that the GORDON family ( Sarah's Parents ) still lived back in County Fermanagh - where they were probably born & married?
My G-Grandmothers father was PATRICK GORDON b: 1824 and her Mother was MARGARET BRADY b:1837
PATRICK"S father was OWEN GORDON who married ROSE MURRAY. They married in 1823.
In anticipation of a positive response of a possible contact or name of organisation in County Fermanagh I could email to find out more about my family would be appreciated.
Regards
Don

Inverness / McLeod Family
« on: Friday 26 March 10 10:26 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for my family. My Grandfather was born at Lewiston Urquart Inverness 1891.His father was William and Mother Bella. My Grandfather immigrated to New Zealand 1926 - A Census shows that he had a number of brothers and a sister.  About 25 years ago my Father and his brother recieved a letter from ( my father said it was the sheriff of ) Drumnadrochit stating that as NOK they had been left property in a will. My father does not now have the letter. My Father and his Brother declined it and said their shares were to go to family back in Scotland. My father turns 90 this year and he says that he has family in Scotland but does not know the address's. I am making my first ever visit to Scotland in July and would like to try to find them. So where do I start? In anticipation of a positive outcome...
