Berkshire / Any explanations (apart from the obvious).
« on: Tuesday 22 May 12 14:21 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Help please. I have an Ancestor who was born in 1848 in Berkshire.(Burghfield ,although  she didnt grow up there)  Between the years of 1867 and 1892 she had 9 children  she was not married at all.
We have a birth certificate for 1 of them and the fathers name is blank as it is on some of the other certificates
Any ideas about this would be good,
We were thinking maybe she fostered them, but what about the birth certificate, would she then register
 the child in her name?
Its a mystery

« on: Tuesday 27 September 11 20:13 BST (UK)  »
Looking for information on the above person after 1911.
In 1907 he married Nancy Kingstone in Reading. They moved to London after that which is where he was on the 1911 census.
The next info I have is when in 1917 his brother James Dominic Wood was killed in action in France. On James army record at that time it states Loius was in the S Welsh Borderers, whereabouts unknown. James was my Grandad and Louis , his brother.
Any help appreciated.
