Census and Resource Discussion / Cancelling Ancestry
« on: Wednesday 03 August 11 19:09 BST (UK)  »
Hi, can anyone tell me if I retain all my research on ancestry and can still log in if I cancel my ancestry subscription?

Obviously I won't have access to their records, but will I still have all the other information I've acquired?

The Common Room / Lease on a property

If someone held the lease to a property in the mid 1500s,  did that mean they owned it/lived there?

Essex / Finding that Will
« on: Monday 11 July 11 14:10 BST (UK)  »
Hi,  I am searching for a will that I know existed at one point, however, I should say that the likelihood of it having survived is probably slim. I have the will of his wife from 1555 and in hers she is a widow and mentions that her husband's will should be fulfilled in all points and meaning. So, does anyone have any experience in searching for, and finding, elusive wills?

Thanks  :)

Ryan

« on: Sunday 10 July 11 22:59 BST (UK)  »
Could anyone explain to me these roles: Constable, Overseer, Churchwarden, Surveyor

My ancestors have been all four in the 17th Century, and whilst I know the basics, does anyone know the details?

Just found out that there was an 1801 Census. Is it comprehensive, has anyone used it before, is it even available, and if so where can it be accessed?

The Common Room / What to do about Latin documents?
« on: Wednesday 08 June 11 14:07 BST (UK)  »
I've got one or two documents that I need to translate in order to unveil more about someone, but I think it's asking a lot to post all 7 lines in the deciphering section. Is there anywhere to help with this sort of thing?

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Latin Help Please
« on: Monday 06 June 11 20:28 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I have a document dating from the later 1500s, but it is in Latin. I have absolutely no experience in Latin, and cannot make end nor tail. Can anyone help me out?

Thanking you so much in advance!

The end of each line is cut off I'm afraid as I can't attach a third image.

Ryan  :)
