Fermanagh / Alexander Graham married in Fermanagh around 1870
« on: Monday 30 August 21 15:38 BST (UK)  »
Hello, am looking for any information on Alexander Graham, who married a woman called Isabella Betty (no surname) in Fermanagh.  I don't know his date of birth, but he and Isabella had a daughter called Isabella born in Enniskillen in 1874.  I have the family after this, but can't seem to find anything on Alexander or his wife's family before this.  It is thought by his granddaughter that Alexander may have been born in Scotland.
If anyone can find, or direct me to further information on his family, I would be very grateful.
Many thanks,
Frosty

London and Middlesex / Seeking the family of James William BIRD b.1911, Bromley
« on: Monday 22 January 18 17:23 GMT (UK)  »
Hello, hoping someone may be able to elucidate me to which family James William Arthur Bird, b 1911 in Bromley belongs.  I have the possibility of him being the son of William James Bird and Emily Tubb, or the son of James Bird and Amelia Elmsley.  All were resident in Bromley at that time, but because of his date of birth, I'm having problems working out which one he belongs to.  My James WA marries Vera Hodder in 1934 in Paddington.  I have later children, from 1914, for WJ Bird and Emily, and earlier children, 1906 and 1908 for James Bird and Amelia.
Any help would be gratefully received!  ;D

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / William BERESFORD of Belper lookups, please
« on: Monday 25 July 16 13:52 BST (UK)  »
Hello, I would be most grateful if anyone will look up the 1841, '51, '61 or '71 census for William Beresford, who married Sarah Aldred in Duffield parish church in 1805.  Not sure of his dob, and all I have is that his daughter Emma was born in 1821 and baptized at St. John's church, Belper.  She married my ancestor, Thomas Seavern, who became the keeper of the Butts at this church.  I believe William was a stone mason.
Many thanks for any help,

Hello - I have a photograph of (who I think) is my great grandfather, William Severn b. 1877 in Stavely.  I had no idea he was affiliated to any service, but he seems to be wearing a uniform here with his grandmother.  Can anyone identify the uniform, please?
Any help much appreciated,

Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / James Hopkins and Anne James' dates
« on: Monday 04 July 16 12:59 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I have managed to track the Hopkins family back to William Hopkins, born 1807 Swansea, whose parents are named as James Hopkins and Anne James.  However, I have been unable to link them definitely, or find a definitive date for them.  As William married Elizabeth Watkins in 1839, he is not with his parents in the 1841 census.  I haven't found any siblings for William.  If anyone would be willing to help, I would be most grateful.

Armed Forces / Record details 18th battalion, Gloucester regt.
« on: Wednesday 22 June 16 15:39 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
On the military service record for William Leivers b. 1893, Wolstanton, it states that the 'event year' is 1912, and that he served in the Gloucester regiment, 18th battalion.  As the 18th battalion wasn't formed until 1916, does this mean that he didn't actually serve until then, or would he have been in another battalion from 1912 and then joined the 18th?
Any help much appreciated,
Frosty

Hello,
I would be grateful if someone would look up the Leivers family in the 1911 census for Basford.  I have a Horace Reginald Leivers who should have been around 8 years old, born in Bulwell and would like to connect him to his parents.
Many thanks for any help,

Cornwall / First mayor of Liskeard
« on: Friday 27 April 12 15:18 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I've found in the Visitation of the County of Cornwall in 1620, that John Hunkin is named as the first mayor of Liskeard (though it gives no date for his mayorship).  I would be grateful to know if anyone can confirm this from any other documentation.

Many thanks,

Surrey Lookup Requests / 1901 Benjamin NEWING, Camberwell
« on: Monday 13 December 10 13:26 GMT (UK)  »
Hello, am hoping someone would be kind enough to look up in the 1901 census for Benjamin NEWING, born in Beccles, Suffolk, in 1882.  He is in Camberwell with his family in 1891, and I know that he doesn't marry until in 1914 in Croydon.  Know at 19 he may not still be with his family, but am hoping to find out his occupation before he marries.

Many thanks for any help,
Frosty
