Angus (Forfarshire) / James Strachan b 1783c

I am trying to find the ancestors of James Strachan. I have the following information:
via his RN records - born in Ceniston ( could be Careston) entered the RN aged 21 on 01/08/1803. He was a gunner by at least 1831 and was entitled to a pension. A RN will dated 14/08/1812, whilst on board HMS Sappho leaves all his worldly goods etc to "my dearly beloved Mother Jane Strachan living at the house of Hugh Abercrombie, Galls Hill, Brechin, in the County of Forfar".
The only Hugh Abercrombie I have tracked down so far was married to Elizabeth Strachan in 1811. He was a stone mason living in Brechin in 1841. However his date of birth is 1787 and Elizabeth 1785. Potentially his Mother is likely to have been an elder sister.

James married a Mary Ann Lipple in Deptford 23/11/1823 ( her mother was Margaret ? from Scotland). All of James Strachan children have the middle name of Abercrombie. :
James John Abercrombie
Mary Ann Abercrombie
Margaret Jane Abercrombie
Elizabeth Euphemia Abercrombie
George Abercrombie
Hugh Abercrombie
Euphemia Abercrombie

I am stumped as to how to trace Jane Strachan or the Abercrombie connection. Any suggestions or information as to how to make further progress?

Many Thanks

I think my GGrandparents are buried in All Saints. Does anyone have a picture of their headstone?
