Buckinghamshire Lookup Requests / Lookup request Farnham Royal 1781
« on: Sunday 16 October 16 12:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi

If anyone is able, I'd be really grateful for a look up in the parish marriage register at Farnham Royal for a marriage, 30 April 1781 between William Simons (aka Simmons, Symonds) and Elizabeth Weard (aka Warr).  I would like the details, including names of witnesses, addresses, fathers' names and occupations, please.

Many thanks.

Cork / Callaghan McCarthy baptism Fermoy, Cork
« on: Wednesday 02 March 11 20:46 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Does anyone have access to Fermoy baptism records?  I'm trying to trace a Callaghan McCarthy, born abt 1805 [1851 census, England]; 1806 [1871 census England] or 1801 [death cert, 1877].

Unfortunately I can't find Callaghan in 1841 [though he had children born before that in London] or 1861, to make his birthyear clearer.

Many thanks in advance if you can help.

Family Bibles / Smoothy-Chowns family bible
« on: Sunday 18 July 10 00:05 BST (UK)  »
John Smoothy (1811-1894) and Ann Chowns (1826-1894) were my great-great grandparents.

Their family bible was a present given Christmas 1858, after they'd married, by a Mrs Woodroffe, who I found in my researches was once John's employer.

I was thrilled to have access to this bible, which is in my mother's possession, and even more thrilled to have two relatively unusual surnames to trace.

John was from Chelmsford, Essex and Ann from Farnham Royal in Bucks.

I'd love to hear from and exchange information with anyone connected with them.
