Antrim / Assistance Request (McKeown & McCallum)

Help!
After a while away from here I return with (another) request for assistance.
I was recently made aware of Mckeownstown in Antrim. Close to Rasharkin where my McGookin/ McGuigan lineage comes from. So this has me a wee bit intrigued.

The furthest back in my McKeown line is to Michael McKeown who married Elizabeth (Eliza) McCallum.
They had 4 Sons as far as I can see;
Michael (M:Mary Rice),
Henry (1817-1896, M: Catherine Connolly),
Bernard (1820-1857, M: Mary Boyle),
Patrick (1823 - 1860, M: Mary McGuigan)

I have the sons in Scotland. I have found various census records under McQuen, McQueen, McEwen etc. I even have a record of Eliza McCallum (McKeown) in Scotland.

My request is to see if anyone has any information relating to this family. I am trying to locate the home, or marriage certificate of Michael McKeown and Catherine McCallum. There seems to be no record of Michael in Scotland. I cannot locate a death record for either Michael or Catherine. Did they go back to Ireland?

I presume they come from around Rasharkin/ McKeownstown, but I also have a tenuous link to the area around Randalstown namely the Duneane area.

Any information, or pointers in the general direction will we gratefully received.

Hi Folks,
I am trying to trace a family and came to a dead end so to speak. Can any US based guys help?

William J Mahoney Jnr (B:1893) married Sara (Jane) Gallacher (B:1891) in Boston, MA. March 1st 1916.
They had 3 kids.
Vincent 1916-1932
Eileen Mary 1918- Unknown
Patricia 1920-1920

My focus is on Eileen Mary Mahoney. She married John Igo Jr (9th Dec 1942), but from then on I cannot find any family.

Can anyone help?

Scotland / Look Up Help - trying to trace a Sarah Jane Gallagher born in 1891

Hi, I am trying to trace a Sarah Jane Gallagher born in 1891 to parents Patrick Gallagher (B1965 Houston Renfrewshire-D1899 Glasgow, Scotland) and Mary King (B1867 Glasgow-D1931 Aberdeen).
1901 Census they are in Glasgow, although her mother passes away in Aberdeen.
I cannot see any death records or marriage records on Ancestry or Scotlandspeople. In Ancestry there is a document which looks a possiblity of her going to the USA. Infact there are a few but the birth year does not tie in.

Any information you can pass on will be greatfully received.

Derry (Londonderry) / (Land) Steward, Faughanvale, Derry

My GGGG Grandfather Joseph Irwin is listed as a Steward in his sons Marriage Certificate in 1862.

I presume this is a Land Steward and worked if for the owner of that land. Is there anyway of finding out if this is the case and what the land was that he worked?

I presume this was an important job, but hated by the natives that he possibly took the rent from.

I come to the well again in hope that one of you kind souls may help me.

I am looking for confirmation that my 3x Great Grandparents were from Ireland. William Miller and Annie McLeish. Goven their daughter Margaretb (B:1865) married a Derry (Londonderry) man, I am presuming they may be from that area. I have had a few searches there on Family Search etc and cant see any matches.

Derry (Londonderry) / John Irwin 1867 Ballykelly, Co Derry

Hi,
over the past few days I discovered a John Irwin B 31/10/1867 to Robert Irwin & Catherine McKane in Ballykelly County Derry. John is My Grandmothers Grandfather.
Can anyone help me pad this out?
I had a look at Ballykelly online and it was a "Plantation Village" built in the 1830's. I would not think that Irwin would be an Irish name, and I surmise he was a "Planter" himself.
So, can anyone please guide me to any good resources of information on Ballykelly or these people I have mentioned.

Donegal / Samuel Duffy B1808 Donegall

Samuel Duffy B 1808 in Donegall (spelling?) Ireland married Elizabeth Hyndman B1820 of Donegall (spelling?). They are my Grandfathers Grandparents.

Can anyone shed any light on them? Where they came from? I have friends in Donegal and would love to visit where they came from the next time I am over.

I have had a look about and cannot see anything.

Midlothian / Balerno

Anyone got any links to any decent websites about Balerno, Lothian.

Got a link back to there for the 1700's, but do not have any info. I cannot find any marriage certs for them although their Son, my direct ancestor is listed as their Son on his Birth Cert. My direct ancestor died there in 1844.

Just trying to pad out some info on him.
