I am researching a lead from a family member in a letter. Mary Mulligan, my great aunt was supposed to either finish her education, or become a teacher here. I canít get any inroads into this, either yearbooks or even if this school/college is in the right area of New York? Mary was born 1903 in Scotland, emigrated to the USA in 1925, married in 1933 to John Mulligan, had two children, (*) and (*), who I also cannot trace. She died 1966 in Florida.I was hoping to trace even a yearbook from this lead StAugustines College. ring a bell with anyone? Thank you, Kathy

Stirlingshire / ELEANOR RYAN FOWLER BOYD, born 1899, FALLIN
« on: Tuesday 24 December 19 16:21 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching John Ryan and Mary Bonar Ryan who lived in theBlocks in Fallin. John died in 1923, Mary in 1930. The eldest daughter Eleanor Ryan took on several of the family children as was the norm in those days. I believe she also was a Justice of the Peace in the 1960#? The only memory I have of her was that she lived next door to an ice cream seller. She died in England as she went to live with her daughter there, maybe 1970s? Does anyone have any info or recollection of Eleanor or her family? Thank you, Kathy

Northumberland / James Hastings OíNeill 1911-1999
« on: Saturday 21 September 19 17:29 BST (UK)  »
Hi I am researching James Hastings OíNeill for my daughter and have met with a brick wall just after starting.
I believe he lived in Whitley Bay, and that he was married. He had at least two sons, one being 68(?) years old. I canít get a grip on this family tree, which I imagine will lead back to Ireland sooner or later. What would the family have come from ireland for? And how can I get a start on his Ancestry? Any help gratefully accepted. Kathy

Dunbartonshire / Michael Ryan, c 1850, Coppersmith, Greenock Old West
« on: Wednesday 04 April 18 15:01 BST (UK)  »
I am researching Michael Ryan whose occupation was a Coppersmith in Greenock, Old West. I believe Michael came from Clare, Ireland.
Anyone got any information on Michael?
And please, what would a coppersmith have made? I cant get anywhere on the internet apart from finding one company, William Hume, who employed Coppersmiths, but no further information on what this company made.
Also, was this a common occupation? Thx for help. Kathy. Any photo gratefully received too!
