Australia / McCullum's Creek baptisms
« on: Sunday 30 January 22 16:34 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find baptisms for three of my grandmother's siblings c 1866 to 1870. During this time they were living Sebastopol, Ballarat and Four Mile Flat, Maryborough. I have a copy of a family register where it states my gt.grandparents first three children were baptised McCullum's Creek. I have been told there wasn't a church a McCullum's Creek at that time, so they were possibly baptised somewhere else in this vicinity or by a travelling minister.
Details of children:-
1. Ellis Williams born 27th April 1866  Sebastopol - died 24th April 1867 Cobblers - I have his death and grave details.

2. Ellis William Williams born 29th June 1867  Sebastopol Hill- I have all his history to his death.

3. Catherine Williams born 19th February 1869 Four Mile Flat - Again I have all her history.

My grandmother was born 1870 Alma, Maryborough - she was baptised in Caernarvonshire, North Wales, on the family's return to Wales - they travelled on the "Great Britain" in June 1870.

They were in all probability Welsh Calvanistic Methodists, however my gt.grandparents married in 1865 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Carlton, Bourke, Victoria.

Hoping against hope, with fingers crossed.

Lancashire / Could this be our Joseph Dickinson?
« on: Thursday 18 November 21 18:34 GMT (UK)  »
I have been searching for a long time, trying to find what happened to my husband's  uncle, Joseph Dickinson born February 1889, Altcar, Lancashire. The last census I found for him was 1901, Gore Cottage, Altcar, Lancashire, with his parents Peter and Margaret Dickinson.

Family lore has it that he went to Manchester to work. I have found 1939 details of a Joseph Dickinson married to Margaret, living 1 Brunswick St., Manchester.  I have obtained a marriage certificate, dated  16 July 1917, St. John's Church, Salford, showing Joseph marrying widow Margaret Tennant; she was previously Lowe.   She had a son from her first marriage, but don't know if she and Joseph had any children.

Where do I go from here please???
