Australia / New South Wales Convict - LEE or LEES Thomas
« on: Friday 26 July 19 16:14 BST (UK)  »
Hi I'm looking for a convict record for a Thomas Lees who has gone missing from the Scottish 1861 Census.  Hi wife is living alone and his son I think is living with other family members in the 1861 Census.

He was born around 1821 in Glasgow I think he may have been convicted of theft but not too sure when.  He appears in the 1851 census then absent from the 1861 and then appears again in the 1871. He registers his wife's death in January 1868 o any time between 1851 and 1868.

Many thanks in advance.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Place name help - handwriting
« on: Wednesday 27 May 15 10:55 BST (UK)  »
Hi, can anyone help to work out the place name:

The parish is Cumber, Co Londonderry in 1846, I think the bottom one may be Lettermire which is Cumber Lower but it's the one above I cannot work out. This is the groom's address so he may have come from another parish.

Any help is always appreciated,
Anne

Donegal / RootsIreland - very disappointed!
« on: Tuesday 11 November 14 14:01 GMT (UK)  »
Just logged onto RootsIreland and found a marriage that I would like to purchase only to find out that I have to pay a minimal £20!!!!!  I only use that site once or twice a month and it's just not economical to pay this for one or two records....

Anyone else cheesed off?

Annie
