I’m looking at my 5xG Grandparents, John Barnes and Elizabeth Leam, who married on 2 Jan 1765 in Crich.

The problem is that I can’t find a baptism record for Elizabeth. And I’m wondering if she had been widowed before marrying John Barnes. There’s nothing in the marriage record to indicate that..

There is though,an Elizabeth Thorp, who marries Samuel Leam in 1755. There’s also a burial for a Samuel Leam in 1760 (though nothing to indicate this is the same Samuel)

Has anyone got anything that might help to clarify who Elizabeth really was?

I have a marriage for William MOSLEY and Elizabeth STEVENSON on 29 Jan 1821 in Whittington.

Both William and Elizabeth were widows.

My problem is that I have not been able to identify who Elizabeth was. In 1851 she is widowed and gives her birthplace as Bents Green which was in the Eccleshall parish of Sheffield, about 1791.

There are several marriages in the area involving a groom named STEVENSON and a bride named Elizabeth. There are also several burials for male STEVENSON's all within the likely timeframe.

But I can't find a marriage and a subsequent burial that appear to correspond. And which would help to identify Elizabeth.

I need a new pair of eyes on this.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to who she was?

Does anyone here have access to the marriage records for Hicknall Torkard in 1823?

I am looking for the marriage of Francis Mosley and Ruth Howett. I believe the marriage was on 10 Feb 1823.. And hope that the record might tell me who was Francis' father.. Or where he came from..

I am working on the family of John Fosterd b. abt. 1694 in Whittington, and who appears to have married a Mary xxxx sometime around the middle of the 1720's (Can't find a marriage online)

I have the following children: Elizabeth bapt. 2 Mar 1728; Mary bapt. 21 Aug 1732; Arabella bapt. 9 Sept 1737.

There appears to be a baptism of an un named child in Dec 1730.

I also have a burial for a James Fosterd, son of John dated 10 Nov 1737.

It seems John's wife Mary died in September 1737 and was buried on 15 Sept 1737.

John was buried 1 May 1770

My problem is that I can only research online, and can see no marriage for the couple John and Mary. Neither can I find other children between the dates above.

Does anyone have access to the PR's for Whittington, or the BT's.. Any help VERY gratefully received.

I am looking at a burial record transcribed from the Whittington registers:

John Mosley bur 26 Apr 1792

The transcription is on familysearch and although the record indicates there is an available image, I'm unable to see it here in France.

My question is, does anyone have the Whittington burial records on fiche? If so what does this record actually say? The John in question could be my 6x g grandfather who was born 1728.. Or it could be my 4x great uncle (grandson of the above) who was born in 1791. The transcribed record does not indicate an age or parents/spouse names whereas adjoining records appear to do so. I'm hoping that this is a transcription error and that if someone has the image, we can tell which of the two individuals we are looking at.
