Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Great grandma needs a facelift

Please try and remove this blemish whilst retaining the colour. It is a photo I mentioned in a former posting, when posing the question of possibly cleaning the actual cabinet card itself.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Cleaning of photo prints

I have two cabinet card portraits of my gg grandparents which I have worked out as probably celebrating their Ruby Wedding anniversary,c1904. They would look great framed except that my g great grandmother's photo has a blemish on her face. It would appear to be 'raised' in other words stuck on the surface (possibly some paper or card). I know a 'digital repair' can be done, but I would like to have the original restored.

Any ideas? water and cotton buds perhaps?

Is there anyone able/willing to visit the CRO? I would like to find some info on Electoral Rolls c1949 in  Macclesfield/Hurdsfield area. Are they searchable by name or address?

Thanks

This photo is I think, is of my great grandfather Michael BYRNE c1844(Dublin) to 1916(Manchester)
Nothing on the back I'm afraid. Having scanned it, I'm wondering whether to remove the surface layer
which would seem to be an easy enough task....with care.

Immigrants & Emigrants - General / Trying to find return from Canada 1931
« on: Sunday 08 March 15 09:33 GMT (UK)  »
Edwin Hanson sailed from Liverpool to St Johns NB , 6 Feb 1931 regarding employment, arriving 15 Feb 1931 and staying at Windsor Hotel, Montreal.

The family story is that he decided not to take up the offer of employment, being put off by
a marine incident ("shipwreck"?) on the voyage home. This may be just one of those family
stories of course, however I cannot find any evidence of the return voyage - sailing or arrival.

Would appreciate any help with this.
