Can anyone tell me where to search for info re my Gt Uncle who left Wales sometime around 1900 for Canada / Yukon, Whitehorse, Alaska /Arlington, Washington State.
I know that he built the Fort Yukon Hotel (from logs) and that he lived in a log cabin and survived by trapping.
I don't have access to the USA or Canadian records.

Family History Beginners Board / Tracing a stilbirth
« on: Friday 22 October 10 23:58 BST (UK)  »
My mother gave birth to a stillborn son at 7 months.  I believe this would have been about 1956. I know the name and place of birth, also his burial site.
I have been told that there will be no record of his death as he was stillborn. Does anyone know anything different?
The hospital in which he was born is now a housing complex so I cannot look there. Nobody knows where I should look. So frustrating.
Any advice please.

World War Two / LCT700 Tank Landing Craft
« on: Monday 11 October 10 21:00 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone please advise me.
I was told by my father that his ship, LCT700, which took part in the D Day Landings, was damaged during one of the landings and later moored on the Thames to protect the Underground against bomb damage.
I am searching for info and possibly photo's of this.
I have been unsuccessful in my search.
Any suggestions please.

Charlotte Tomkinson born 1862 in Shrewsbury Had two children by unidentified father.(Frank born 1894 & Dorothy born 1899)
Dorothy was possible Dorothy Mary Tomkinson.
It is possible that Dorothy died around 1976 so there could be living relatives out there. Is she on another tree?
Any info please....... :)

Clare / Walter KENNA

I am trying to locate information about my husband's Great Grandfather who we think was born in County Clare in 1858.
He left Ireland sometime around 1900 and lived in Lancashire until his death in 1916.
I have searched Ancestry records but cannot find anything about him. I was told that most records were destroyed in a fire so I will probably not have any luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions please.

Lancashire / Looking for Rachal/Rachel/Rachael SHARPLEY
« on: Thursday 30 September 10 15:09 BST (UK)  »
Born 1879 in Gorton, Manchester. Married Frank Sherrington on 11th May 1913 at Moss Side Manchester. Died 1959 in Widnes.
Any suggestions to help me find details of her parents etc..
Her christian name has been spelled with three different endings  'al'   'el'   'ael'
I cannot locate records in the census' before 1901.
I have found a Rachel Sharples daughter of Robert & Mary Ann Sharples. Don't think this is correct though.
??????
Rachael was my husband's Grandmother. He was 7 at the time of her death so has few memories of her apart from remembering her sitting in 'her chair'
