Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Help Needed with my Grandfather
« on: Saturday 13 December 14 02:55 GMT (UK)  »
Hi I was sent this image sometime ago by email. The person who sent it is no longer around. My great grandfather is behind the Minister next to the woman in white with the hat in the back row who is his wife. I have tried desperately to get just him lifted out and enlarged as a crisper passport sized photo but have had no luck. I have had great success on here with other photos and would really appreciate your help even though I accept you haven't much to work with. Many thanks, Ann.

Anyone researching a James Neill born about this time in County Down living at 60 Hill St in Lurgan 1901 (Grocer) possible marriage to Ellen Holland on 1.2.1859 and have found a Banbridge birth registration for a James Neill around this time but think birth place likely to be Tullylish or Donaghcloney?? Thanks. PS Could be Magheralin but think they registered Lurgan?

Armagh / Henry Neill Lurgan
« on: Thursday 28 July 11 12:03 BST (UK)  »
found the marriage of Sarah Neill 68 John St to John Heaney Edward St on 21 June 1924 at St Peters Lurgan - have him and all belonging to him - need help with her parents Henry Neill and Elizabeth Greer possibly COI. Neills had a great military tradition and its possible he was off with the Army in the census of 1901 and 1911. Did find a Sarah and Elizabeth in Castle Lane in 1911 but Elizabeth is showing as single? Rifleman James Neill killed in Flanders 2nd Dec 1917 is also connected to this address (I have his docs, birth baptism census and military). His father was James who married Eliza Jane McCully and I think James and Henry are brothers. This is my brick wall :(

Down / Magheralin Harts
« on: Saturday 09 July 11 09:54 BST (UK)  »
John and Isabella Hart are buried in Magheralin Old Cemetery 1827 and 1852 respectively. Their son David is baptised in Shankill COI Lurgan Armagh on 27th Oct 1799 though the family seemed to live around the Armagh Down border between 1799 and 1822 in Derrylisnahavel, Tullydagin and Kilmore. The minister at Johns burial is Magheralin COI and Isabella RC. Their childrens names are John, James, Thomas, David, Mary, Sarah (Sally) and Catherine. John jnr ? is present in the freeholder records at PRONI for Derrylisnahavil. David married an Elizabeth and is buried in the Dougher Lurgan 1876 from Turmoyra. I am pursuing  potential Down connections to this family as other Harts from Dromara are buried in the same graveyard and an Alexander Hart was born to Alexander Hart in 1740 in a nearby townland of Ballymcbredan (recorded Magheralin COI).  I have baptismal dates for all of John and Isabellas children so I am just trying to connect with other Hart researchers in this geographical area.
