Perthshire / Minister David Duncan
« on: Friday 14 October 11 21:37 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I posted a short bio of Minister David Duncan on Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Duncan_%28minister%29

Also added two references

The name David Duncan runs through my whole family as first and middle name.
I am pretty sure the Minister David David was very close to my family in Sunderland.
The next minister of the Union Chapel in Sunderland was James Muir, and he married into our family.

I was able to trace back David Duncan's parents and brothers & sisters in Scotland.

Would be great if someone knows where I could find more information about him and maybe find out how close the connection to my family was!

Hello all creative !

This are my great great grandparents!
He was born 1839, she in 1843. The woman at back is probably their daughter.
I think the photo was taken about 1895 in Latvia, maybe earlier.

I'd love to see this cleaned up a bit  :)
Also added their photos taken in 1936, maybe they can help restoring!

Best regards,
Chris

Immigrants & Emigrants - General / Naturalization Peter Brant
« on: Thursday 09 December 10 18:20 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Folks!

I am looking for naturalization confirmation about:

Peter BRANT born abt 1875 in Riga, Latvia (Livonia)
His real name was BERTELSEN or similar
He left abt 14/15 yr old, to escape the russian army.
He was a seaman, and crewlists going back to 1895 list him as Peter BRANT, but when and where did he change his name? He ended up abt 1900 in Co.Durham to marry and have a family.
So probably he was naturalized between 1890 and 1895 in England.

I would be very happy if somebody could help!

Best regards,
Chris
