Cork / Jane Cooper
« on: Saturday 16 March 24 10:18 GMT (UK)  »
Good morning,
Could someone out there help with this family, as for years I've found it so difficult to find anything.
I have two births of a Mary Ann Cooper and her sister, Isabella who I know were born in Ireland, Mary Ann in 1890 at the workhouse in Banach Street, don't know if that's Cork or Kilkenny, and Isabella was born in centenary row.
There father was a private in the Shropshire regiment by the name of Thomas Cooper, and their mother, Jane, sometimes Mary Jane, who was formerly Byrne/Bryan.
I have seen hints about her parents possibly being John and Jane.
Any help would be most welcome, thanks

Shropshire / The Lane family
« on: Friday 16 February 24 13:31 GMT (UK)  »
Hi again all you lovely people.
I am looking for any info on a Thomas Lane 1801-1874, particularly his parents.
There is information suggesting he married twice, firstly to a Mary Evans at Wellington in Oct 1821, she then died 10 years later, and he married again to Mary Cartwright at Dawley magna 17 Oct 1836.
I think this is the family in Donnington 1861, Thomas Lane 61 coalminer, Mary 54, Ann 21, Thomas 18 ironstone worker and James who was also an ironstone worker.
James went on to marry Elizabeth Hart on Aug 4 1873.
Are there any trees out there?
Thanks everyone

Lincolnshire / John Rawding
« on: Monday 31 July 23 09:45 BST (UK)  »
Morning all,
Would someone be able to do a look up for me please?
I'm trying to find out where John Rawding born Besthorpe 1842 to Francis and Ann,was in 1861.
The family was pretty big by then, and it looks like they had two properties, one of John's brothers seems to have been the head of the second one.
I think John would have still been in Lincolnshire or Notts area,as he was in Sheffield 10 years down the line.
I think he must have been lodging somewhere near by,and think I saw something a while back about him being a cord winer.
Cheers,thanks.

Dorset / Joseph Butt's marraige
« on: Monday 31 July 23 09:35 BST (UK)  »
Morning rootschatters,
I was just wondering if someone would be able to check a marraige for me.
I've been trying to find a marraige for Joseph Butt born Blandford area 1772,and can't find anything in Dorset, however I came across one through familysearch to a Ann Clark in Middlesex in 1796.
Most other records just have her down as Ann.
It would be interesting to know if it has his dad down as John.
Cheers thanks.

Hi rootschatters,
I'm just wandering if someone out there might be able to help me find   some info on Charles death which I assume was in Lambeth, London, and anything about where he was buried.
He was born in 1838 in Blandford, Dorset, and was 58 when he died, from what I've seen, don't know if it's correct or not.
He was christened Samuel Charles and was married to Mercy Anna Painter.
Thanks
