World War One / Richard Anders Sgt Kings Liverpool Regt
« on: Tuesday 10 January 17 08:53 GMT (UK)  »
Wondering how, if possible to tie in  Richard Anders on the 1911 CENSUS living at 6 Low HiLL, Liverpool. He would have been of age for enlistment during WW1, but he was married with two children. Bar Manager [Coach an Horses] don't think this would have been reserved occupation. The  Medal roll shows a RICHARD ANDERS, LIVERPOOL REGT Sgt 5503 and Y+L R 39736   Roll 0?/2/102 B18, any thoughts on how to find a home address for Sgt Anders or family names etc. The above details taken from Ancestry, Thanks

Lancashire / Louis Henry Clarence
« on: Monday 16 April 12 14:26 BST (UK)  »
Trying to find information on Louis Henry Clarence. He died in St Helens, Lancashire on the 29 Oct 1911, aged 37. I have been unable to find his birthplace etc.   In the same grave in St Helens cemetery lies Eileen Doris Mahon, who I believe could be his wife. Has anyone any thoughts, much appreciated, thanks.

Lancashire / Mersey Mineral Water Company
« on: Saturday 21 May 11 14:30 BST (UK)  »
Hi, Gores 1900 Directory part 3 Trades and Office section refers to the Mersey Mineral Water company being at 15 St James St Liverpool. Has anyone come across this company or does anyone know anything about it.
I believe John Collins to be the owner with the company starting about 1880ish. I have information about the Collins family from various census records but it is the company itself I am interested in at the moment. Pointers and thoughts appreciated, thanks

Lancashire / Problem birth/death
« on: Wednesday 18 May 11 14:08 BST (UK)  »
Hi, two queries relating to the same person which someone may be able to offer some advice on how to proceed.
The person is my Gran, Helena Rose Anders formerly Collins. She is on various census and her marriage certificate as being born in Liverpool in 1884. On her death certificate her DOB is given as 11 May 1884. But I can not seem to raise a birth certificate, tried various combinations of dates etc to no avail. Suggestions would be welcome.
The second problem I have is finding where she is buried, She died in 1974 at Nazareth House Cardiff and on the death certificate it does say the body has been released for burial. I wrote to them to see if they had any further details received but no reply,  which is not surprising given the time factor.  From what I can gather, Nan spent a lot of her life in Liverpool in the licenced trade and when retiring moved to north Wales. Could anyone suggest how or where I start to track down the grave. Thoughts would be appreciated, Thanks.
Just as an aside and one never can tell, if anyone has any info on her life, however minute how fantastic would that be.
