Dublin / Booterstown - Electoral Roll for early 1900s through 1940s.
« on: Tuesday 27 February 24 23:52 GMT (UK)  »
Anyone know where I can locate the Booterstown Electoral Roll for early 1900s through 1940s?

I've tried the library on Pearse Street (although it was a year or so ago) and they directed me to the National Archives. NA just emailed me yesterday and directed me back to Pearse Street!

So I wonder if anyone here may know of their location?

Thanks in advance!

Dublin / Where would I find Donabate RC baptisms for 1882-1891?
« on: Saturday 17 April 21 00:53 BST (UK)  »

Following on from my previous post.  Just wondering if anyone knows where I could find the baptisms for the period 1882-1891 for Donabate?

If anyone has access to them I am looking for Catherine Rogers/Rodgers b. about 1882...give or take a year & Mary Rogers/Rodgers b. March 1890.

Thanks.

Dublin / Help finding Birth/Baptism - Turvey and/or Lanistown perhaps - abt. 1882
« on: Tuesday 13 April 21 21:01 BST (UK)  »

I am looking for the birth record and/or baptismal record for a Catherine Rogers/Rodgers born about 1882.

I believe her parents should be James Rogers & Mary Dunn/Dunne whom were married in 1870.

According to the 1911 Irish census, Mary had 6 children/5 living.  I have found all the others except the 6th! which I am confident is Catherine.

So in 1878 they were still living in Turvey, as stated on James birth record.

Jump to 1890 and they are now in Lanistown as per Mary's birth record.

So Catherine was born somewhere in between.  They were RCs.

Thanks for any help.

So here's what I have so far:

1851 UK Census has a John Masterman born in Sutton? (Is there a 'Sutton' in Yorks?).
1871 UK Census has his birthplace as Hull.
1881 UK Census has his birthplace as Patrington, Olderness (Would that be Holderness?).

He moved to the USA before the 1891 Census.

John's parents are Robert Masterman & Hannah Mason.

There is an entry on the GRO website for 1841, but this doesn't appear to be him (I found a baptism for 1841, which indicates the mother's name is Ann).

All of the other children for Robert and Hannah appear to have been registered, so I don't know why I can't find an entry for him.  On his marriage record to Sarah Walker, the father's name is Robert.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Wicklow / Monastery, Powerscourt.
« on: Thursday 05 September 19 22:39 BST (UK)  »
Is Monastery, Powerscourt a 'Monastery' or an area within Powerscourt?

I have a couple of ancestors that state their residence as 'Monastery, Powersourt' and 'Monastery Parish, Powerscourt' on their marriage certificates.

Thanks.

Anglesey / Is Trefarthen a village in Llanidan?
« on: Friday 26 July 19 22:04 BST (UK)  »

I can't find much info on it, but from a baptism record I can barely make out: Ty'n lon, Trefarthen.

I am assuming that the above is a different place than the Trefarthin, Llanidan?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Wicklow / Original Bray Parish Church records (not catholic) - 1880.
« on: Saturday 13 April 19 00:59 BST (UK)  »

Just wondering if the original records are available anywhere?

I found my 2 x Gt Aunts marriage record on the Irish Genealogy website but can't decipher the first name of one of the witnesses.  I also am wondering if the surname was mis-transcribed from Harrington to Barrington.

So I thought if I could find the originals maybe I could figure it out!

Thanks in advance.

Dublin / Marriages between RCs and Irish Church.
« on: Friday 29 March 19 07:04 GMT (UK)  »

Where would these couples most likely get married?  I have a couple of ancestors who don't appear to have had their marriages recorded with the GRO.  I have emailed Sandyford RC parish and they are unable to find a record and I also emailed the GRO in Ireland too...but they couldn't find anything either.

Where else could I possibly look?  I'm pretty much stuck without it.

Thanks for any ideas.

I found a marriage record in 1879 on family search which appears to have a link to FindMyPast, but when I input the details directly into FindMyPast website it just doesn’t appear.

So I wonder if the marriage records for Llanberis Parish Church for that year are still available on FindMyPast?  I just don’t want to signup for a month if the record is not going to be there!

Thanks for any help.
