Can anyone help.My grandfather was a master euphonium player for the Treherbert silver band.Sometimes he conducted the band as well.He was killed in the Bute pit 1935 and the euphonium was placed on top of the coffin. The funeral was reported ,but as its on the edge of the page,is unreadable.I also believe he played for other bands as well.Does anyone have any information on him or the competitions, anything. He was highly thought of.The family moved from Kettering around 1911=12.Thankyou

Gloucestershire / Elizabeth Mann Accident
« on: Thursday 01 July 21 10:39 BST (UK)  »
I wonder if anyone can help with this query.Elizabeth Mann, known as Lily, born 1862.When she was about 10 she was in an accident with a wagon which dragged her along. The surgeons wanted to amputate her leg,her mother said no and it was saved.I have written to Bristol archives, they said i would have to search all hospital records, but i cant get there, also i looked in the newspapers but cant find anything.Perhaps i havent searched hard enough, can anyone have a look to see if they could find anything. It was Bristol. The people at Bristol did look but said there were too many records to look through, anything would help.Thank you Glenys

Hello,i am researching a family that lived West of Greigs Stone,Edinburgh and are buried in Canongate Kirk, but i just cant find anything about it.Would it have been a poor area do you think? This was 1780 onwards.A couple of children died from pox so would that have been chicken pox,as another died from smallpox. And one age 14 months died from decay, any ideas?Thank you Glenys
