I really  hope someone can help me locate my cousins grandmother's grave in the Sterkrade, Oberhausen region of Germany. Her name was Hedwig Hess she died on the 20th April 1961. My Cousin said the cemetery is called VEG but I haven't managed to locate this cemetery  on find a grave or on google.  They are going to Germany in 2weeks and would like to visit Hedwig's grave.. Her husband was called Hans and their daughter was Anneliese Hedwig Hess b1913 Baden Wurttemberg. This is all the information I have to go on. Thank you Anne

Tyrone / No First MInister for Northern Ireland at the moment
« on: Tuesday 15 January 19 12:57 GMT (UK)  »
Hi I recently sent a request to the PRONI Office regarding admission records to Middletown Convent, I knew I was under the 100yr rule for releasing documents, I have had them waived before when I requested my Grandma's Asylum records. I am 4yrs under the  100yrs.   The records have been found which is great but because we have no First Minister for Ireland and the Dept. Of Communities every request is on hold. This is what Proni replied to me. A search of relevant records held by PRONI has now been completed and I can confirm that we hold certain information in relation to your request.
However, I must inform you that although PRONI does hold the information which you requested, we will be unable to complete your request at the present time, in the absence of the ‘appropriate Northern Ireland Minister’, which is to say, the Minister for the Department for Communities

PRONI has been notified by the Information Commissioner’s Office that the Department for Communities does not have the authority to complete the necessary consultation process with the Responsible Authority for requests for transferred public records in the absence of a Minister, as required under section 15(5) and section 66(2) of the Freedom of Information Act. PRONI will therefore be temporarily suspending FOIA requests until a new Minister has been appointed.

Hope this will soon be rectified, I am so excited to finally have tracked some documents down which will explain more of my Mum's story.

Dose anybody  recognise this soldiers regiment, we are trying to work out if this is my husbands Gt Grandfather James Mills. His service record states he enlisted Jan 1916 - 1st Batt Kings Own Royal Lancaster regiment, but on his service sheet he appears to be with 22nd Batt Lancashire Fusiliers from april 1916-dec 1916 then with  K O Royal Lancasters in France.  Sorry about photo quality Thoughts please Anne.

Hello I have never seen a photo of my granddad Tommy McMahon when he was a young man,  I  only knew him as an old man. I am attaching a photo of him in his later years and recently came across an old newspaper photo in the Caledon Heritage centre of the woollen  mills  winning 1904 football team, I was drawn to a young player and I have a feeling that this could be my granddad in his youth as he was employed there at this time. Unfortunately no names were included with the team photo. I have cropped and enlarged the photo so apologies for the quality. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the two photo's. Thank you Anne

Tyrone / Mullan/Mullin Family Caledon Co Tyrone
« on: Wednesday 23 February 11 18:48 GMT (UK)  »
Hi I am interested in finding anybody connected to James Mullan and  family who  lived at Annacramp in the parish of Aghaloo Caledon. James Mullan was my maternal GGrandfather. My grandmother Susan (Mullan) McMahon died 1923 when my mother was only 1yr old. She had an Aunt  Margaret Mary who emigrated to America , but I don't know what happened to the rest of the Mullan family Patrick b1884,
John b1885, and Mary b1887.  It would be nice to find a connection and fill in some missing gaps.
Regards Anne :)

Hope somone can help me, I am trying to find out  more details on my GGG Grandfather Jonathan Cocker I have no date of birth or birthplace. ???
All I know is that he married  a Mary Crowther(Crowder) 4/3/1824 Manchester Cathedral.
Their daughter my GG Grandmother was Sarah Cocker born abt 1826 I can't find any birth details for her, in census's her birthplace is given as Rochdale Lancs.
Her marriage certificate said Jonathan was a spindle maker, Sarah married John Mitchell 27/6/1844 at Manchester cathedral. I believe her father was not alive when she married,  because his wife Mary Crowther remarried a John Whitehead at manchester cathedral on 31/5/1837.
If anybody has any ideas were I should look next I would be most grateful,  Thank you.
