The Common Room / D-day veteran Sidney Marshall

NINETY-year-old Sidney Marshall made an extraordinary sacrifice for his country.
As a UK Royal Air Force (RAF) fighter pilot, he was one of the 156,000 personnel who fought for freedom on D-day.
But Marshall, who died at his home in St Annes, England, on June 16, has few living relatives. And those who are still alive live considerable distances away. Undertakers fear no one will attend his funeral service.
So a local funeral director has made an extraordinary plea to fellow Armed Forces personnel: Come to Mr Marshall’s funeral. Don’t let this brave man be sent off alone.

Im still waiting for the day one of these shows, WDYTYA and the likes of, has the every day "Joe" on instead of always famous people. Why cant they just pick someone walking down the street and take them on a journey of a life time? Our ancestors were just as interesting.

If you had ancestors born at this hospital between the years Aug 19th 1856 to Mar 15th 1879 you may find a record of their birth in here.
Interesting reading and can find lots of info from the records. I found one of mine in there and it states how many kids she had previously etc.

I have been trying for 4 years to crack this one and cant 
Infact no one seems to be able and i have threads up all over the place so if you google you would no doubt come across them. [Lots of other threads from other people as well looking for the same thing i am]
I have nothing on George before his 1856 marriage in Drayton Swamp. I have everything i need for 1856 onwards just cant find him before then. Cant find his parents, siblings or his baptism. Its like he just magically appeared the day of his wedding

I found this headstone to be interesting. It has latitude and longitude of where she was "buried" at sea.
