His mother was called (*) but left when this son was about 3 years old. There may be a link to Sydney, Australia, there was a mention of a place called Barlinnie but from what I can see this is a prison!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so not to sure on this one, as just reading scribbles from notes on a paper.

(*) Names of people who may still be living have been edited in order to protect people's privacy, as part of RootsChat's guidelines. Thank you.

Hello to all,

Had a few months break and now back at it again..........

I was wondering if anyone has a connection to John Howieson McKinnon who married Margaret Ann Hall Morin in 1949, Townhead Glasgow. I understand that Margaret died in 1995 and I would dearly love to find out if these had any children.

Margaret Ann Hall Morins mother was Mary Ellen Hall who married Thomas Morin in Garangadhill 1911. Thomas and Mary had children Robert, John, Thomas, George, Samuel, William. If anyone has a connection to these I would love to hear from you.

Hope everyone is well, Angeline xx

« on: Tuesday 31 May 11 21:49 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

I hope someone here may be able to help me. I have tried the records office in search for a birth record, this was a few years ago. The request came back and they could not find him. I am trying to find the family of my 3rd great grandfather Thomas Wilkes.........

I know only too well just how many Wilkes there are for this area but here is what I have so far. Thomas Wilkes was born around 1837 in Darlaston and I have his parents as James Wilkes and Sarah (unknown). Thomas married Sarah Fellows and I have the family from these to date (most of them  :) )

I am trying to find info on Thomas's parents, I know Thomas had a brother James who was about 9 years older (b 1828) and he married a Maria Sloan they had children in the Darlaston area.

If anyone knows of these Wilkes would you please reply, many thanks, Angeline xx
