Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Death Elizabeth MacDonald, July 26, 1932
« on: Tuesday 19 March 24 18:45 GMT (UK)  »
Elizabeth MacDonald nee Patterson was born abt 1868 in Sea Point, Cape Town, South Africa to William Patterson and Annie Crossett. She firstly married Henry William Bailey Apr 1912 (unverified) in England although I think they had many children prior to marriage, possibly starting with Elizabeth Emily Bailey abt 1886. Her husband Henry died Sept 25. 1915 and Elizabeth remarried to John MacDonald Oct 1917. John died 1935, unverified.
Ultimately, I am hoping to find the parents of Elizabeth's mother Annie Crossett, born abt 1843 in Ireland, who married William Patterson Feb 10, 1859 in Magherafelt COI, Ireland and they immediately emigrated to South Africa with son Wesley Wellington Patterson  being born at sea in 1860.  Annie died Aug 28,  1882 in Cape Town as per the Cape Times Newspaper of Aug 29, but I don't have Annie's death certificate. I know her father was John (deceased) as per Annie's marriage record in 1859 but I don't have her mother's name.
Thanks for any help.

According to the Waco Times Herald, Waco, Texas, Mar 1, 1912, Mary Jane Teeple died in Speegleville, Texas that morning. She was married to Samuel Teeple abt 1868 in Ontario, Canada and her maiden name was Irwin/Erwin. I am looking for the names of her parents which may be on a death certificate. I have not found her marriage in Ontario, Canada but their first child was Jennie M. Teeple May 18, 1869 in Thamesville, Chatham-Kent Municipality, Ontario, Canada.

« on: Saturday 02 March 24 21:02 GMT (UK)  »
Robert Irvine died July 30, 1875 in the town of Blooming Grove, Orange Co., NY. Is there a death certificate naming parents, an obituary, or a community history book which gives more information about Robert? Looking for surviving siblings, in particular a married sister Eliza Johnston in Kinloss, Ontario. He was born in Co. Fermanagh, Ireland about 1821-1826. Wife was Annie nee McGregor who is on the 1880 census in Blooming Grove, Orange Co., NY. Robert’s parents should be James Irvine and Elizabeth Hunter.

Canada / George Johnston, death, Nov 6,1911 Kinloss, Bruce Co., Ontario, Canada
« on: Wednesday 31 January 24 19:28 GMT (UK)  »
As per George's death certificate,he was born 1811 in Ireland and died Nov 6,1911 in Kinloss, Bruce Co., Ontario, Canada. His father was George but I would like to know his mother's name and where George was born exactly. Since he was  100 years of age, I thought perhaps there might be an obituary or a big party on his birthday.
George had married Eliza Irvine Mar 15, 1849 at the Registrar's Office in the Town of Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh but George's residence at the time  was the Town of Lisnarrick, Civil Parish of Derryvollen. Looks like Eliza's residence was Tullycreevey,Civil  Parish of Deveney.

They must have emigrated abt 1856 since their first child born in Canada was George Phibbs Johnston June 28,1857.
I don't find his death on findagrave but I did find this on familysearch.

Tyrone / Edward Johnston married to Elizabeth Johnston
« on: Friday 05 January 24 03:26 GMT (UK)  »
I found a couple living in Paisley, Scotland in 1851. They were Edward Johnston married to Elizabeth Johnston nee Johnston, as later records would show. Edward is a laborer, 31 and Elizabeth is 40. They have children Jane 14, John and Thomas all born Ireland, as they also were.
https://www.rootschat.com/links/01swo/
In 1861, Edward is 42 and an ag. lab. They have another daughter Elizabeth age 8, born in Paisley and their son John is married to Sarah Elliott, his first wife.

Daughter Jane married in 1858 to William Allison Russell from Co. Tyrone. Edward is thread packer.

Elizabeth dies in 1870 and her parents are Arthur Johnston and Jane Johnston.

Edward remarries and is found in 1881 with wife Margaret, and daughter Isabella, living in Govan, Lanarkshire. He has gotten younger, age 52, but it is him as his death record will prove. He is a gardener.
https://www.rootschat.com/links/01sws/
In 1891, he is still in Govan with Margaret and Isabella.
In 1894, Edward dies. He is back to his truer age of 74. https://www.rootschat.com/links/01swt/
His wives are listed as Elizabeth Johnston and Margaret Close or Linn. Actually her maiden name was Close as her death certificate will show. His parents are Edward Johnston and Martha Sproull, probably Sproule.
Son Thomas marries Jane Cockburn in 1864. Thomas and Jane had a son Edward Cockburn Johnston who died in South Carolina in 1850. Daughter Elizabeth married William Irvine in 1881.
I don't know where Edward and Elizabeth came from in Ireland but I once saw a note that daughter Jane was baptised in Co. Tyrone but I can't refind that. Nor can I find any other reference to Co.Tyrone.
I know that I am asking a lot but can anyone locate where Edward and Elizabeth came from in Ireland.
Thank you
Peggy
