Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Help with a Forename
« on: Thursday 09 April 20 00:15 BST (UK)  »

Thanks to the wonderful help on here I'm now back to the Grandparents of my Lichelade ancestor. Christopher Lichelade left a Will dated 1558, but I can't figure out what his wife is called - Bolas is what it looks like to me, but I'm not sure

Thankyou in advance

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Help with three words and a surname
« on: Tuesday 20 November 18 01:01 GMT (UK)  »

The first snippet is taken from Boyds Inhabitants of London and concerns my ancestor Leonard Curson.  Can anyone tell me what those first three words are ? I'm confident that the third is index, but not sure about the other two.

The second snippet is taken from Leonards Will dated 1603. He leaves money to his sisters daughters, the snip includes Christian ? ? ? three pounds and Rose ? ? ?    -  Is that a surname ? Possibly Dewite or Dewise.

Thank you for any help given.

Hi All,

I apologise if this has been asked before, or (as the case may be) I am being totally daft. Today I was looking through the 'Parish' tab on An***try, when came across what Anc* are calling a 'new' collection.

What is it ? Nothing happens when I click on it, it just tells me to go tback to the prior page. I've added a snippet.

Thanks in advance
