« on: Friday 23 August 13 07:59 BST (UK)  »
I am interested to find information about my irish ancestry prior to them making the journey from Milltown County Galway
Surname: RAINEY / REINEY /REANEY etc
Daniel Rainey (Born abt 1815) and his brothers John (1811) and Thomas (1811) were all born in Ireland. Milltown or thereabouts is a strong possibility.
The family arrive in England in part about 1860, the men secured work and the women seemed to follow later.
Daniel (1815) married Bridget NOT KNOWN (Born About 1827) – in Milltown?
4 of their children were all born in Miltown ( Census information)
John (1855)
James (1856)
Thomas (1860)
Catherine (1873)
Each of the 4 , later died in Grimsby, England.
Daniel (1815’s) sibling information as follows:
John (1811) - His wife not known had the following children all born in Ireland; Mary Rainey 1849 –
Thomas Rainey 1852 – ,Patrick Rainey 1854 – ,Catherine Rainey 1858 – ,Thomas (1811)

Europe / I am in a Pickle with Portugal
« on: Wednesday 07 September 11 07:58 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for information on the Jones family and their businesses in Portugal.

It is my belief that William Jones, Born 1801 in Swaton Lincolnshire and died 1876 in London UK  and his family had business interests in Portugal. I know this because one of his son's , either William (born 1841 in Newington, Surrey) or Thomas (born 1843, Same) travelled to Portugal  to settle the father's affairs. Which one ( could have been both) , I do not know. I believe they had a Pickle Factory in or near Oporto. They also had a Pickle manufacturing business for some generations in the South of England.

It is possible one of the son's died in Portugal too.

That is all I have.

I am looking for any information that will place this family in Portugal.

Many thanks
Dan
