England / William Blackwell born around 1821
« on: Monday 23 October 17 09:22 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I am trying to find William Blackwell's parents and hoping to be able to go back further.  I have little information in regards to William Blackwell he died in Greytown, New Zealand in 1860.  His death certificate has practically no info on it.  I have calculated an estimated dob from his death certificate.  His marriage certificate states he married Caroline Major in 1856 Paddington, Middlesex and William's father is John (assuming his surname would be Blackwell).  I have a lot of info on William's and Caroline's children.  However I am trying to go back to William's birth/baptism, his parents (and siblings if possible) and further back on the Blackwell family if possible

Thanks

Hi, hoping someone can assist with finding death information.  I have purchased a certificate for James but it is not the correct person.  The name James Taylor is so common.  Have also searched on the Invercargill Cemetery page.  James was born in Invercargill and Jean was born in Dunedin.  They were married in Invercargill in 1915.

Thanks

England / William BLACKWELL born 1821 England
« on: Sunday 21 February 16 09:30 GMT (UK)  »
I have little information in regards to William Blackwell he died in Greytown, New Zealand in 1860.  His death certificate has practically no info on it.  From his marriage certificate he married Caroline Major in 1856 in Paddington, Middlesex.  There are two children present before their marriage, Sarah Ann and William, with Thomas Henry born in 1860 in NZ.  His father on the marriage certificate is John Blackwell and no profession is stated for John Blackwell.  I have hit a brick wall here.  I haven't been able to find his mother or go further back.  I have no idea of his siblings.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Australia / look up maybe in Victoria for William James Blackwell
« on: Saturday 27 October 12 06:53 BST (UK)  »
Wondering if anyone is able to do a lookup in Victoria for William James Blackwell.  Possibly death or burial or something!!  I have searched Queensland and New South Wales and can't find what happened to him.  His parents are George and Harriet Blackwell (who resided in Canada).  I have the marriage certificate for William James Blackwell married to Ida Lavinia Warren.  There could be a second marriage to Edith Alice Warren (Ida's sister).  I haven't purchased this certificate as yet as I have only just received the marriage certificate to Ida yesterday.  On the marriage certificate the birthplace and parents sections are blank.  Wondering what happened to William.  Maybe I have missed something in the Queensland and New South Wales records.  I have also searched the trove website as well for a death notice.  But haven't found anything.  At this point in time I can only speculate that he was born in England.  His father, mother and siblings moved to Canada at some point in time.  In regards to a birthdate for William, from a Canada Census he must of been born around 1864.

Thanks

Australia / Henry Roland BLACKWELL b. Winton, Queensland
« on: Sunday 30 September 12 05:20 BST (UK)  »
Looking for parents/family of Henry Roland BLACKWELL, born 27 May 1921 in Winton Queensland.  Married Dorothy Kelly (most possibly in Queensland, I have not been able to find a marriage record in Victoria or New South Wales).  They were still in Queensland around the 1940s and then moved to Victoria.  I do not have a birth certificate as the Queensland historical records seem to only go up to 1914? (I can't remember exactly).  Any help or assistance is appreciated

Australia / Melbourne Catholic Orphanage records
« on: Wednesday 11 July 12 04:50 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find out what happened to a baby that could of been born at the Sisters of Good Shepherd in Abbotsford.  He was apparently born in 1882.  I have no birth day or month.  The baby was later sent to New Zealand apparently about the age of 2.  I would like to know what they did with the babies born by single mothers.  If they were sent to an orphanage, which orphanges did they send these babies to and if anyone knows if there were records and where can I find these records?  Also were these babies baptised?

How can I view replies to my posts? They are not recent posts and when I was searching on Google, I noticed that someone replied to a post and that information could fit in to where I am up to now.  Thought I would come back onto rootschat and look myself.

England / FULLER family and Henry VIII also possibly a move from England to Ireland
« on: Thursday 26 January 12 04:40 GMT (UK)  »
I have been trying to research my Thomas FULLERs family.  I have his marriage info and also information in regards to his children.  I have been unable to find any information in regards to Thomas' parents.  Thomas FULLER married Honora HAYES in 1825, Dunmanway, Cork, Ireland.
I was talking to a family relative and he is sure that our Fuller family had a connection or something to do with Henry VIII in England.  Another researcher and myself have a feeling our Fuller family came from England then moved to Ireland.  It may not have been Thomas who moved from England to Ireland, it could of been his parents
